Not that it's going to help exactly, but what are the permutations which will allow us to stay up without getting another point?

So, desperate times means desperately relying on others as we are obviously incapable of winning a fucking game. So as it stands, for us to drop 2 of these clubs need to do the following (i'm pretty sure i've worked this out right) based on us getting 0 points from the last 3:

Fulham: Must beat Stoke (a) and Palace (h) anything less than 6 points and they can't catch us.

Norwich: 5 points from Manure (a) Chavski (a) Arsenal (h)

Cardiff: 6 points from Sunderland & Newcastle (a) Chavski (h)

Sunderland: 6 points (maybe 7 depending on GD) from Cardiff (h) Manure (a) Bitters (h) Swansea (h)
Norwich only need 4 points.

If we don't get another point, which looks likely, then if any 2 teams below us win 2 games, or one team wins 2 games and Norwich win 1 and draw 1, then we'll be down.

The difference between Lerner and HDE is that Doug's decisions were always money based, good decisions and bad ones.   I was, and remain critical of Doug Ellis but with him you knew what you got.  You expected him to be an old tightarse and he would not let you down. He never hid, quite the reverse and whether by accident or design you usually knew what was going on at the club.   Randy Lerner makes a very bad situation unbearable by hiding.   He has got the money but he will not invest it in the club because he has got the pox to us and looks away from our plight.   If Doug had been in charge for the last month Trinity Road would have been rammed with daubed bedsheets and cops dragging away protesters.   For the last four years the club and the fans have been asleep and I have been as guilty of that as anybody.   The only time we woke up was at the Bolton game and there are plenty around who consider what happened that day to be disgraceful.   I consider it to be a tiny bit of evidence that the lion is still alive.

We have only got ourselves to blame for putting up with what has happened to our club.

Palace got Scott Dann in for about 3m in Jan. Him and a hard midfielder and we would be safe.  Bit of nous and experience through the side.

I'm a rather fat feathery fucker called Paul.
At this management lark I've no clue at all.
I sit watching all this bewildering wank.
In a couple of weeks there'll be a cheque to be banked.

We are the poorest side in the prem now and if we do go down Lambert and Lerner will never be forgiven.
I gave up on Villa and watched the Fulham game, god help us next week the way Fulham got pummelled the second half. Agree about Baker a walking disaster. We will not get another point so relying on the ones below us to lose.

I've said it many times now - this is the worst Villa team I've ever seen in my life.

Indeed, that's been obvious for a long time

I know Richard, you've known for ages, we get it.

Excellent, at last, I've even revelled in it I've known it for so long ;-)

Being a smart arse about it doesn't give you any more credit.

Gloating over the Villa being shit. Still, different things make different people happy.

We had more possession than Swansea as ''experienced '' manager Gary Monk realised like ever other half decent manager that letting us have the ball and counter attacking us will get you an easy result

I'd second that.

Why keep going on about it, Richard, as if you're actually pleased? You weren't the only person to notice our shitness, far from it, but you're the only person who seems genuinely happy he can say he was right all along.

So next Saturday, I'm at a wedding where the groom is a Baggies fan. I'm almost at hypertensive levels about Villa now, so next week I'll be one degree farenheit away from a full-blown stroke. A one-nil win would mean I get utterly, heroically shitfaced.

Someone should let Lambert know he is at least pleasing one person.
