We have no evidence to suggest that Helenius would contribute anything to a team under pressure, for which he has not played in months.

we have evidence that the current players haven't won in 5 and have lost 4 of those games. It wouldn't hurt to try something different.

Cowans, Given and settled selections are all different.

I hope you're right. I think having Helenius at the very least on the bench would have provided another option, something different. Maybe even a target for Albrighton.

I am not trying to be right. I am assessing the evidence and second guessing the tough decisions that the management team have to make.  Keep chopping and changing every match like Lambo's original coaching team or reassure these 17 that they are trusted and supported to get the job done. Like them, I would pick the latter because, on balance, that is more likely to be successful. But, not at all guaranteed.

Helenius should be on the bench instead of Holt. Easy, obvious decision.

Holt offers nothing and should be nowhere near this club.

Can't help feeling this is still a depressingly familiar line up though. Hope I'm wrong and one or two display a bit of form.

Apparently we haven't won at Swansea since 1971 in the old Third Division, winning 2-1 at the Vetch.Imagine we've only played them 5/6 times..Please Villa..A point at least..Or bugger all for wba, fulham,Norwich.Next year boring, safe mid table please.

my first away game

Might as well push Bacuna further forward and play Lowton, it's not like we are overflowing with options. Ye gods, UTV.
Certainly my thought when I saw this.

Albrighton is our only dynamic player who creates chances and Bacuna for KEA would see us run around by Swansea, who are all about quick-footed midfielders with low centres of gravity.

Lowton in place of Bacuna would have been good though, because he is stronger defensively and we all know that Routledge will be keen to show up Villa, where MON never gave him a chance.

Listening to Potato Head Bruce on R5..seems to be implying that they possibly need another point. On that basis we need two..and I don't fancy us needing a win next week against them sat behind the ball...please at least one today gentlemen

Holt's been the best Villa player for the last month, so he has gone in the squad.

Id have had Helenius on the bench instead of Sylla and had Clark cover the defensive midfield role.

Surely we're due a win, even a flukey one will do.

Helenius for Holt? An unproven non-match fit skinny novice for a proven battling English old fashioned number 9 who encourages his team mates and has been in scraps before? Holt is shit, but in this situation Helenius would be shitter.

To say Holt has been our player of the month is laughable.

Just seen lambert saying he's picked the same again for today cause they 'deserve' to 'go again' after how 'well' they did last week!
FFS on what planet is he living on?
Can't wait to see the back of him

Holt is an overweight has-been who has summoned 2 shots on target in 9 appearances. Statistically he is worse than Helenius.

We KNOW Holt is shite, we don't know Helenius is.

Commentator:'Bacuna not the best of defenders in the league'. Maybe that's because he isn't a defender
