I see even Sheff U have seen the light and swapped Macron for Adidas.

the only thing I'll say about Puma/Adidas/Nike is that unless you are at the very top of the tree they simply send you your colours in the same design as 100's of other teams. Now, if the logo means a lot, then it will be appealing to wear one of those above Macron. But Nike's quality is no different to Macron. Same materials being used by most of the kit manufacturers now. Our kit under Adidas would look much like West Ham's really. For me, as I don't really invest in new kits is to get the best deal for the club which is what Macron did for us.

The difference is, even given the fact we were low priority to them and the quality was shit, which seems to be the case with Macron, too, the Nike kits all looked nicer than the horrible designs Macron have come up with.

Even that fucking horrible one with the check bits down the side, even that was nicer than what Macron have come up with.

the material for that was every bit as gash though. Take the collar out of the current Macron, it's better than the checked version in my opinion anyway

I agree on the material, like i said, the quality was shit, but the fact is the current Macron does have that collar effect, doesn't it?

Of course it'd look nicer if it wasn't there, but it is. Like last season's kit would have looked nicer without those Macron patterns on the shoulder.

I can think of several Nike kits we wore which we eye-pleasing designs, but I can't think of any Macron ones I'd describe as nice. Possibly the current away kit is the best, but even that is rubbish when compared to, say, the white Nike away kit, the England inspired one.

It's all subjective, I know, but there don't seem to be that many people around who like the Macron designs.

I seem to recall that Macron employed a team of designers (Italian at that) to research all about us, our history, previous kits etc to come up with a classic Villa kit.  And it was utter gash.  This one is marginally better, but still a long way short of what I'd like us to have.  They seem to look after the Italian clubs better than us...take the Napoli kit for example.  Much nicer.

In my opinion (which must be tempered against the fact I'm told I have very little taste), the best and most enduring designs are usually the simplest and cleanest (e.g. E-Type Jag).

Sadly Macron struggle from the onset with their stupidly intrusive logos. The best kits have the basic colours in the right places, with minimal trim and no unnecessary insets, panels, flashes, patterning, shading, or for the love of Mike, detailing.

Totally agree.  Less is more.

Claret body and Blue sleeves please. White shorts and blue socks with two claret bands at the top.

Lovely.

White away kit please.

No details, no sponsor, no logos. In fact not even a badge, just a lion embroidered onto the shirt, Aston Villa above, FC below.

Our new Home shirt for next season has been leaked. It's a radical shift in colour and design from the norm, but the club want to fall in line with trading standards apparently.

It'd be nice if our new owners (if it happens) buy out Macron's deal and give them the boot.

Yeah, let's piss money away for no good reason.

There is good reason. It would mean ridding the club of the cheapest, tackiest kit supplier this club has ever had.

No way that was the Asics crap. Remember the Muller shirts that had threads of polyester pulling all over it.

I'd buy the away. I do like the addition of black to the away kit. Reminds of one of our kits from a few years back with Platty in it. My mind is playing tricks and memory fading but I thought it might have had Mita Copiers on it.
