I think we'll have a new crest next season, especially if we get promoted.

Very similar to the 80s crest but more modern and with a gold lion.

Best-selling author...Jane Austen, he gets about our kid.
Was the Liverpool game he saw the 0-0 where Staunton was set-off on his return to VP?

I was at that game, expecting another cracker, a la the season before when we lost 4-2, but could have been 10 all. I remember we had a goal disallowed. I think from Dublin.

Mr Winter should know we are not merely one of the founders of the football league, and we didn't just help to found the football league. We are the founders. We founded it. I think when our Tony's finished more people will be aware of that fact. I like his plans, I like him.

It's an interesting idea; a museum not for the just the history of the club but to promote yourself as ground zero for football from 1888 onwards.

The lion rampant.

Tearing Danny Murphy's face to pieces, to give it a contemporary finish.

Or taking a bite out of Danny Murphy then spitting it out because it's far too bland.

That'd be good, fitting with a new era and resonating with glory days of my youth. My woolly hat and dressing gown still have the stripey crest on, I'd like to upgrade both in the summer please Uncle Tone.

You really have to love the bloke.

Reading that article (thank you for posting it Villabear), and watching this, much as I enjoy the positive honesty that we share with him, that he's more impressed with Steve Bruce than he expected, I suspect we are all starting to firmly conclude the same about him.

Cemented by Amfy's reporting back/the official account of the Steve Round thing, I probably wish I didn't care as much as I do, but it seems things had got much worse than we feared, and, along with the broad vision for the area and profile, things could get much better than I dared to dream.

Belief, morale, optimism, momentum throughout an organisation/atmosphere/culture is a curious thing.

This could get quite fun.

I have to agree. Somehow out of the depths of our despair we got lucky. When you think of some of the assholes that have bought into football like :the venkys and that twat at Cardiff we should count our blessings every day for Tony Xia. He's such a top bloke and he obviously has bought into everything that we the fans hold dear.

I wonder does Randy Lerner earn a bit of credit for this?  IIRC, he expressed a wish to sell to the right buyer that would have the interest of the club as his main focus or, am I being naive?

To a point but given what happened under his watch it will be a long time before his role is acknowledged in any positive light. Steve Hollis certainly deserves it.

LOL thanks Dave! It's a birthday weekend for me and The Lord. I used to celebrate it with The Beast but he's dead to me. Also think Risso's is around the same time.

Agreed, but where would it go?

This is a reminder to me that we were saying exactly the same thing about Doug selling to Randy for a fair while, and look how that turned out.

Perhaps in a way we dropped further/fully because he did hold out for (or lucked out at) a wealthy, committed, pragmatic and visionary owner.

Time will tell, if Xia is all that, but any signs you could dream of are there, as well as a strong flat denial that he'd move on quickly. From what I've seen and read, I trust him.
