I wonder does Randy Lerner earn a bit of credit for this?  IIRC, he expressed a wish to sell to the right buyer that would have the interest of the club as his main focus or, am I being naive?
Getting us relegated, yes he deserves full credit for that.

I think Mr.Lerner deserves a good deal of credit for the recent fortunes of AVFC Dave. Read into that what you will.

Which was my point in the op Tayls.  Wern't there asset strippers/shysters knocking on the door that he could have sold to but didn't?  Anyway, on we go.

Randy and Doug both; more by luck than judgement they sold to a good (at the time in the latter case) owner. Maybe I'm being unkind but I don't think either were particularly bothered where the money came from.

Come on Dave, ordinary folk the world over benefit from the benevolence of wealthy men. You'd be hard pressed to find examples of self interest.

In addition, the early signs under Dr Tony are great no doubt about that, but, only time will tell whether he turns out to be the right owner.  Especially for example if we didn't get promoted within two seasons.

Your intellectually ambiguity is obviously wasted on here.

Financial types, what is the relevance of this:

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/10176070/charges/Fpq99y8hYfaESLz9jPNPqRgv9AE
We have given a Charge Fixed And Floating to HSBC, which would suggest the Company is borrowing money from them or about to.

Mr Winter should know we are not merely one of the founders of the football league, and we didn't just help to found the football league. We are the founders. We founded it. I think when our Tony's finished more people will be aware of that fact. I like his plans, I like him.

I noticed that too. What must have been his motivation to inset 'help' found the league?

What's the need? Is it a loan to Recon or a loan for the Villa? Thought they were supposed to be minted.

It's all about narratives. Liverpool, Man Utd or any London club would, if they had done what we had done, have certainly been the founders of the Football League, with all the romance, acknowledgement and gratitude associated with such an achievement. It couldn't possibly have started with Aston Villa from Birmingham, even if it really did.
