On a serious note:
I read your original post as describing (and IMO rather wittily) "unprofessional and unfit players talking about a myriad of things that showcased to anyone bothering to listen exactly
why they were unprofessional and unfit", with fast food being one of those things.
When I was reading your post, I just read the "fried chicken" phrase as a "insert generic example of unhealthy food that shouldn't be on any professional athlete's diet here". KFC, McDonalds, Burger King. That sort of thing.
I realize that a lot of posts in the latter pages have been taking the piss or been an effort to get a punathon going, but some posters seem genuinely to be offended.
I thought I had a quite fair grasp of English language and idioms, but now I worry. I think I'll need to improve my English if I wish to open my mouth within anyone's earshot without risking to put my foot in it the next time I visit the UK...
