I just came home after having a couple of beers, as is my Thursday norm.
The Wife is out, so I bought some KFC.
Turned on the thread and am now not sure if I am a racist or Black.
Looked in the Mirror and, neither.
The cat is finishing off the bones.

On a serious note:

I read your original post as describing (and IMO rather wittily) "unprofessional and unfit players talking about a myriad of things that showcased to anyone bothering to listen exactly why they were unprofessional and unfit", with fast food being one of those things.

When I was reading your post, I just read the "fried chicken" phrase as a "insert generic example of unhealthy food that shouldn't be on any professional athlete's diet here". KFC, McDonalds, Burger King. That sort of thing.

I realize that a lot of posts in the latter pages have been taking the piss or been an effort to get a punathon going, but some posters seem genuinely to be offended.

I thought I had a quite fair grasp of English language and idioms, but now I worry. I think I'll need to improve my English if I wish to open my mouth within anyone's earshot without risking to put my foot in it the next time I visit the UK...

I'm a bit late on this one but I just wanted to back Mark up here.  I have never heard fried chicken as a racist slur either and I'm gobsmacked it's been picked up on.  If I had said it and someone had called me out on it I would have been fucking furious.

I note from other posters that it can have racist connotations, but that surely isn't that well known in the UK?  Really sometimes I think these things go too far and some people are desperate to be offended.

Can I just check if curry or burritos are non PC, because I'm fond of both and would hate to be labelled as a KKK member if I casually mention them.

Genuinely had no idea.  Doesn't even make sense to me I thought everyone ate chicken.
