surely, the fact that everything is quiet must be seen as a good thing ?

With all of the shit flying around after the initial announcement and the fact that Dr X is really is a terrible shyster who hasn't got a pot to piss in, wouldn't that all have been proved by now ?
And wouldn't the club have pulled the plug on the deal ?

Maybe, just maybe, the club are asking for some independently verifiable financial details, and the replies are along the lines of "Yeah, of course we have the dough, just take our word for it...", "Sure I'm worth billions, the Bank Statement's in the post" and "Look, you don't need confirmation, I'm bestest mates with the President, isn't that good enough..?"

Why the fuck would you want to just make that stuff up in your head?  Hasn't our relegation given you enough misery to dwell on without inventing bullshit hypothetical scenarios just to piss yourself off some more?

Villa have done their DD - it is now formalities.

I was going to say, if they announced the takeover BEFORE they asked for independently verifiable financial details it would be the most arsey arse about face deal of all time.

Probably wanted to give us some good which outr long suffering fans desperately need. So rushed the news out.

Why would we need to send them lists of players that we are retaining?

We'll be retaining all of our players who are under contract until we either sell them or their contracts end.

The contingency was that if the club was not sold by the end of May the existing organisation had a preferred manager to turn to.

The club is as good as sold pending the inevitable bureaucratic shambles / play to the cameras charade that is the fit and proper person test. The new owner obviously had a different view as to who the manager should be and can't really appoint until he's the legal owner.  We're not time stressed like we were when Doug appointed O'Neill on Lerner's behalf.

Where's the problem?

Alternatively go back to secretly lusting after Marilyn and pay less attention / give less weight to what are obviously uniformed opinions on a discussion board that is renowned for knowing absolutely nothing when It comes to ITK.
