If they're taking their time because they're doing it properly then that's a good thing.

I'd rather have a test that took a while but did the job properly than a rubber stamp exercise when you look at some of the dodgy fuckers who have got involved in the game in recent years.

This is not Albion or Small Heath or some other piss pot nothing club they're dealing with, this is Aston Villa, that's an important name for English football.

but that's what it is, a rubber stamp exercise it legally can't be anything else.  For that reason alone all the talk of extra scrutiny is just made up nonsense.  The legal requirements to owna  football club are very clear and have been shared on here.  If he meets all of those the takeover gets approved, exactly the same as if any other person was trying to buy any other club.  Football clubs are, from a legal standpoint, no different to any other business so the same ownership law applies, so proof you can afford to pay for the club (either with loan agreements or with direct funds), no evidence that you aren't capable of running the club (no bankruptcy on record, etc) and no criminal convictions from a list of corporate governance related crimes.

It's cricket season.

I had hopes we'd be taken over as I thought that was key to us bouncing back and using our bulk to bully all the others. It looks like that has happened early on. How good he will be will not be known for five maybe six years, but it is change none the less and I think we're all hopeful it's positive.

We have a new manager waiting in the wings with talks about his coaching staff. He has a good record of success short term so fingers crossed there.

Players will take care of themselves, it's not a massive issue in the last knocking of May when we're technically still a top flight club administratively.
