Correction: Pat Murphy in saying

"Discussions imminent over RDM's back-ups" was meaning his staff, not alternative managers.

His general position was we have to be patient for the cautious PL & FL ruling to come through, I suspect it'll all be fine and is just taking longer than we want, which sparks rumour-mongering.

i suspect it Will be fine too, but I want this fella properly checked out, not just a cursory: Yep she'll be right mate, check.

If there's something not right, then I want it found now and not 6 months after he's walked away with the keys to VP and BH.

The stasis is IMHO the last vestige of the Lerner naivety era.

Any club worth its salt would have been lobbying the Football League like mad - look you numbnuts, screw waiting for the playoffs, we're going to be in your jurisdiction next year, here's all the data, now get on with it please before we hit you with restraint of trade suits.

But no we just sit around passively and wait, burning crucial restructuring and recruitment time.

No blame on the new regime here, it's not in their gift to expedite.

To be fair Dave, the Football League can't really say anything until we're officially one of theirs on June 2nd can they?

While I welcome as much scrutiny as possible, why do we need to be checked out by both the PL and the FL? We can only be in one league at a time. Either that league must do its checks, or we behave like adults and accept the inevitability of us passing from one league to another, and get both leagues to check us out at the soonest possible opportunity. This rigid clipboard officialdom is holding the club back.

I assumed that the PL were doing one due to the parachute payments that they are going to have to pay us.

Then they should hurry up and get on with it, Chris. Likewise with the Football League. As a Villa fan, I've known we were going to be in that league since January, so I'm sure they can give us a break and get scrutinising now it's an absolute certainty.

I always get the impression that when it involves Villa, we are forced into doing everything by the book and when we do something wrong, the book is thrown at us.  Perhaps it is just being closer to Villa and not hearing much about other clubs, other than major issues.

If they're taking their time because they're doing it properly then that's a good thing.

I'd rather have a test that took a while but did the job properly than a rubber stamp exercise when you look at some of the dodgy fuckers who have got involved in the game in recent years.

This is not Albion or Small Heath or some other piss pot nothing club they're dealing with, this is Aston Villa, that's an important name for English football.

They will take time but will be fully aware of the need to get it done in good time to avoid any potential issues interfering with the start of the league season.

Because we're hoping to be back in the premier league asap! Also championship clubs play against premier league clubs in cup.competions.

If he isn't as rich as he's saying he is, then way better to find out now.

It'd be another great achievement for Randy's legacy if he turned out to have been thoroughly taken in by someone who even those operating football's fit and proper test managed to spot was dodgy.

Agree.
It won't look good on Hollis's CV either.

Have to say the last week or so has been a very unsettling period for me, feeling sick with nerves at times wondering, worrying, hoping, I so hope Tony is the real deal and we dont have to go back to square one, im really struggling.

Well no one has found out anything else about him the last week have they? There has been enough people digging and the best they've come up with so far is the press release from Aston Villa and Steve Hollis wasn't accurate. It's encouraging.

I don't know why they're bothering to dig. The Noses have a handle on this not to worry.

Sad crayon eating morlocks.

Do they have any idea who Trillion Trophies are yet because if ever a company sounded completely made up it's that one. Surely that's got to be Carson Yeung again trolling them.
