Watch that Hollis interview again. Any amateur psychologist worth his salt will spot the bit where he scratches his cheek when explaining Dr X's many achievements. I think they edited out the bit where he strokes his chin and says "Ooh, Nessie."

Also the bit where he cups his slenders and the bit where he has as good scratch up his arsehole  with his index finger.  Clear case a roids.

I missed that bit.

Easily done once you accept the the appearance of the things-as-seem and fail to apprehend the essence of thing-as-they-are.

Ah it was the best bit as well. Hilarious

Its fascinating to see opinion wildly surge to the negative so soon. It's a great read. Some quality comments.

Although cautious about the new guy I'm prepared to see what he offers. You never know it just might be positive. Somebody seen at games would be a start.

Can any of us see how it will go with whoever was going to take us on. If the Doctor passes the relevant checks then let's see what happens.
That's all fine and dandy, but if he scrapes through all the checks its too fkn late, hes a wrongun

And your evidence is?
The shoes.

Exactly - you have none. None of us have any evidence, or proof, one way or the other about this bloke so to get hysterical and/or throw all sorts of accusations around about him is absolutely pointless.

Well, some lies have already been outed

The controlling interest in five major companies thing, for example. The Birds Nest stadium stuff.

Sorry but this is the ownership of our club we are talking about. It's too important to not be concerned about this sort of thing.

Indeed.  It's now been confirmed they only have a controlling interest in Lotus so in theory if they wanted to plunge cash into Villa then only Lotus have the final say on it - without a controlling interest in the other companies then cash can't just be demanded.  So turning back to Lotus great let's have their cash.  Only problem with that - they made a £53.5m loss.  So where does the cash come from? Banks?  Hedge funds? It's concerning you'd have to say.

One name which worries me, Chris Samuelson is thought to be involved. Big concern as he lent Reading money against parachute payments, hope he hasn't pulled a similar stunt with Dr Xs purchase. Its a worry when we don't know the Drs wealth/businesses and the main one made a loss.

Haven't seen or heard any Villa news today, so what's the one thing that's got everyone's knickers in a twist regarding the takeover? I looked on here yesterday and most people were positive but today it's like the sky's fallen in.

Hollis claimed he had a hand building the Birds nest, he didn't.
Villa said RECON had a controlling stake in 5 public companies on the stock exchange, they don't as of now.

Little things keep popping up. Nothing he's said himself or RECON, but statements Villa have made really.
Common denominator is the current regime had said this - so maybe they continue to fuck up

Only controlling plc Lotus - owning other companies as well, where there could be loads of capital.

And in process of acquiring 4 more to be finalized.

But you do know that some of the rich people that own the listed companies actually are not listed?

(I will let this go a while before I am worried )

To be honest I think most amateur psychologists would tell you that body language is fairly unique to most individuals. So one person might scratch their chin to indicate dishonesty, one might scratch their chin to indicate comfort. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I wouldn't really too much into little bits of body language.

Not been in her for a few hours. Fair to say that the new owner isn't shaping up, and we have a Portsmouth like decline to look forward to? Bad times then. But we're getting used to that I guess.

Fuck it...still AVFC. McGregors boys and all that jazz............

yes......typing when you're drunk will do that. I guessed somebody would pick up on it. Apologies for that infraction. Good to know the grammar police are policing this place in their usual diligent manner.

So what has been shown to Hollis, a man the Birmingham Post has referenced as having

"a CV awash with high-profile roles for KPMG in the Middle East, the Far East, the USA and Europe demonstrates that it’s been professionally challenging – and equally rewarding, that has convinced him to say

"You start putting the bits together and it all looks exciting. I genuinely think it will be transformational for Aston Villa and the city of Birmingham."

1. Hollis is right to be impressed and we will all be content.
2. Hollis has been bamboozled. Has happened to better men than him.
3. Hollis is under no illusions but priority is to fulfil the remit of his employer.

Number 2 made me chuckle Scott. China is awash with the skeletons of westerners who went into business with Chinese partners. Have you read Mark Kitto's book or Mr China?
Fantastic book Pat Mc , I read it on my first trip over there.

I've read Clissold, Pat, but not Kitto (which I shall now remedy on your recommendation).

This from a Bejing business news source - they gave it to the intern to write:

"Seventy-five million pounds is not a big investment," Xia told Caixin.

To raise the cash, Xia said, privately held Recon tapped the bank accounts of two subsidiaries: Shanghai-listed Lotus Health Industry Holding Group, and Shenzhen-listed Teamax Smart City Technology Corp. Ltd.

Xia said his immediate objective will be to support Aston Villa's effort to return to the Premier League. If the club can achieve that goal next season, and is not relegated to the lower league for three years, he said Recon will pay the club's current owner another 40 million pounds, according to the deal.

The respected club's performance this past season "to a large extent had to do with its management team," Xia said.
(He should have seen us play more...)

That is another thing that bugged me. He should not be criticising 'previous management', what he means by that. It is unnecessary and is poor form.
