With regards to what we know about Tony Xia ,  how much did we know about Abramovic or Sheik Mansour before they took over their clubs?

By comparison, shit loads.

Here we go....

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/05/20/aston-villas-65m-takeover-to-be-scrutinised-by-premier-league-an/

How to make something that is mandatory sound like it's.......  not mandatory.
I doubt the mandatory scrutiny would be news if there wasn't a shit load of ......doubt

Err isn't that called the owner and directors test and happens to every club when they are taken over anyway?

It is, but perhaps this time their scrutiny will come under more, erm, scrutiny?

Knowing our luck it'll be the first time they'll refuse to ratify the deal..

A reporter only has to come on a site like this to see there's doubt. So what does he do then?

I don't think I have seen a buyout in recent times that hasn't mentioned the league scrutiny.

If there were 3 bidders and this shyster was the best of the bunch who the fuck were the other two the Cosa Nostra and isis

What makes you think he's a shyster?  We're currently being run by a guy who was very high up at one of the biggest auditing companies in the world.  Do you honestly think that Hollis wouldn't spot the sort of obvious 'iffy' things that have been reported on here?

The issue is that we're struggling to find info so some people are filling the info black hole with comparisons to Carson Yeung and getting all nervous because of it.  I'm quite uncomfortable with some of it which seems to be that he's going to be shit purely because he's Chinese and operates like most Chinese businessmen.

I sell used vehicles for a living, I can spot a 'wrong un' a mile of
I doubt he will even pass the FA's fit and proper test

There's no reason at all that he wouldn't pass it.

Unless you or your company have gone bankrupt, you've got a significant criminal conviction, you've been disbarred from a professional body or you're being officially investigated then you're going to pass.

Dave said yesterday there is no reason he will fail as long as he meets basic requirements

Just catching up on the latest smoke and mirrors, is he isn't he, murkiness.

I was really just hoping that after all this time we wouldn't have to be in this position. Silly me.

Can Randy Lerner and his cohorts get done properly? I'm amazed he's able to get dressed in the morning quite frankly. Typical Lerner, the deeper you dig the more of a potential fuck up it becomes.

If they are running it as a business, it's a positive.
If they are using improved methods of sports science, it's a positive.
If they are moving over here to keep a close eye on things, it's a positive.
If they are employing Di Matteo or Moyes, it's a positive.
If they stick to their word about summer investment, it's a positive.

I've said it before that I don't believe they have mega bucks, just some initial outlay. After that, if we are in the Premier League and ran properly then it should take care of itself financially. If we don't get promoted, then I'm no so sure.

I agree with this.  Randy had loads of money but ignored the detail and hands on involvement.  This chap - whoever he is - should be an improvement just by investing his time and some passion in the club.

I'm sure if this guy is pure fiction it would have come up already. You'd have thought that if we had conducted our diligence through our various legal/accounting resources they'd have uncovered something that smells off. And the PL review piece should be just that. I don't understand why it is a story at all as shouldn't this be standard protocol. If this potential new owner isn't all he seems you would think between all of the checks being made it will come out.

Maybe the league don't care if you have a pot to piss in and, if you do, they don't care where the cash comes from. But maybe they do care if you are a complete fraud with no history that they can verify. This man is our worst nightmare. I just feel it in my bones.
