Whatever the case here the ultimate goal here will be to get the club back up where it belongs. I'm just delighted Randy's fucked off. If Tony, or President Xi, or Chairman Mao, or whoever owns the club delivers on the promises, then I don't care who owns us. I want the Villa to be successful again. The Premier League and FA won't allow anything untoward.

The poll needs another option: 'Wait and see.'

Erm...I wouldn't be massively upset if the Football League do a thorough job on their fit and proper persons test.

That's what we all want.  Not just a rubber-stamping exercise.

Unfortunately, even with the League's beefed up ownership test, 'absence of pot to piss in' and 'full of shite' are not listed as criteria for disqualification.

The wiki page popped up the other day. At the time, it had no other "facts" than those in the Villa press release.

Thier record on identifying dodgy owners is somewhat awful.

I started my usual Friday commute from Manchester to Birmigham this evening, wearing my 1997 'Yorke 10' home shirt.

The train manager recognised me for being a Villa fan and upgraded me to first class.

The revolutions happening already.

Mr. Xia said he hopes to take advantage of Villa’s youth camps to train promising young Chinese players.”

I'm all for this. And 'promising young Chinese players' shouldn't be limited to those whose parents are waving large sheaves of currency.

I'm trying to remain positive and neutral, but this is starting to have a whiff of Venky's and the hotel waiter who said he wanted to buy Carlisle United about it.

Well that's true. I was thinking more about the club getting into shite through dodgy deals etc, but then again I don't suppose their record is that good there.
I don't envision the problems some of the press are making out though. At the same time I'm fully aware we won't be one of the three biggest clubs in the world within 10 years.

I did wonder about this. If they're good enough, I'm all for it. But we don't want Ali Dia's Chinese cousin playing for us.

Will we win more than 3 games in 10 months though/

I hope so. Chinese Government = loadsamoney.

Exactly. I don't give a f-ck what the FT says, it's owned by Nikkei Inc. a Japanese company that would say anything to discredit China.

We'd have to be pretty appalling not to. That said had Randy stayed on, I dread to think what other records we might have smashed.

Surely money talks? He's had the cash to buy and have proof of capital to pay the extra if required and also the money to invest?

Otherwise he would't be here and Randy would still own the club?
