It's all a little depressing that so many people since the news have committed themselves to finding out as much information in order to debunk the validity of this takeover. Or constantly taking little jabs at the Chinese. It's all a bit of shame that this is what it has come to and there's only sprinklings of positivity about what pretty much everyone wanted.

Absolutely this.
Seconded.
Or should that be thirded?

Well I am going to be Mr Grumpy then because I think this is all a little odd. I think it is natural to try and find out as much as possible, and all I have found is more questions than answers.

Hope I am wrong, and that it all goes swimmingly.

Who cares about a couple of throwaway lines about being a striker and being a Villa fan?

Totally irrelevant.

Its like the guff new players come out with up and down the country about it being their dream or some other nonsense.

The bloke may play football down the Power League, who cares. He may be Villa fan, he's probably not. The last two Villa fans we've had owning us have been shocking. Its just all puff into the piece.

It would be far better to accept anything other than the current situation as being A Very Good thing and bask in the inevitable glories which are surely now just a matter of time.

Y'know, like we all did immediately after the last takeover.

Everyone wanted a takeover.  Not everyone wanted a takeover by a guy who seems to have lied a fair bit, have very little online information, have a company who had money but no idea how much and seems to be involved with a director from Reading that's fans are openly wishing us luck with administration and league 1 fur to his involvement.  Forgive me for not quite yet sayng gobble and hoping for Christmas.

If he defrauded the Chinese state, why hasn't he been executed, considering its a Capital offence.

I don't see where he's accused of having defrauded the Chinese state.

Anyway, in China what matters is your relationships and who your benefactors are. Not rule of law.

All these Reading supporters slagging that guy off - I must have missed the news reports where Reading became insolvent and/or ended up significantly further down the league pyramid than their traditional place in the pecking order?

We don't even know his real age ffs, that bodes well doesn't it?

Why don't we know his real age? Who said he was 30 in the first place?

People are jumping at shadows left, right and centre. ''He's 30, it doesn't add up, he can't have done what he said, he's too young''. Turns out he's not 30 anyway.

Before people start shitting themselves and making things up it's probably time to let the dust settle and see what FACTS come out in the open first.

The love notes posted earlier about his time in Boston.

Quite. Or even better, reserve judgement until we see how he actually performs!

He could be a greater owner or he could make us long for the days of crazy old uncle Randy.

One things is certain I am not going to be jumping up and down with joy when we know the square root of fuck all about this guy, and what reports there are about him seem conflicting.

The good thing about a thread this long and intense is if you read enough of it you give up caring, regardless of what the reality is. There is a level of consciousness to be had that completely transcends the fact that we are shite and it could possibly actually get worse.

Anyone else thinking of the Goon Show at every mention of Jiantong?

This from the FT is alarming to say the least....

"Mr Xia is head of Recon Group, a holding company based in Hangzhou and Beijing with a mix of investments. Recon declined to answer questions or make Mr Xia available for an interview, and he does not appear to have published an annual report or audited financial statements."
