I feel as excited as I have since we bought all those new, highly rated Ligue 1 players.

It's strange, no-one knew who the bloke was this morning and now it's official, we still don't know too much about him. It's going to be an intriguing and very interesting summer. I'm just glad it's all done.

Yeah, I have a feeling of moderate excitement and cautious optimism now. Hopefully by September the first few months work will have me convinced we're headed for the Champions League by 2019.
The only concern, and I am well aware how far we are from it right now, is that the stated ultimate aim is top 6, not even champions league. Still, enough over-analysing for one evening.

Where does this put us money wise? Are we competing with the big boys £ wise? Or are we still relatively small fry?

It's strange. All the know-nothing Facebook believers at work were telling me all about him, while I dismissed it all because the sophisticated experts on H&V were scoffing at the 'fake' article they were believing. What a prat I looked by 6.30.
Percy - I posted the original link to the Chinese article at lunchtime, but deleted the link because I thought it was bullshit.  The reason I thought this as when googling phrases from the article the first link I found to it was was on Small Heath Alliance forum about 6 hours earlier (ie early this morning).  I couldn't believe that the info would have been available for so long without anyone pick in up on it. Plus the website looked dodgy.  Then someone said they had translated comments on the thread and most said it was made up.  Finally, someone chipped in that it was a rehash of an old Liverpool spoof article.  This was enough to make me think it was bollocks, and said so to stop people wasting time.

No one seems to know, if we are part of the sport arm of the group then they are losing money and fast, but little is clear.

Right now no one knows, that's why some people are being pessimistic and others are cautiously excited.  I suspect the summer will tell us a lot about what we're dealing with but I wouldn't be surprised if it's slightly more 'under the radar' spending like Leicester have done for a couple of years rather than fantasy football.

Am I the only one who is sceptical that this new owner has been a fan for so long?

This is exactly right.

We've got to appoint a manager imminently, and then we've got a truly huge rebuild job over the summer. How they tackle that will tell us a huge amount.

Shit loads of money isn't the main thing I want to see in a new owner. We've just had one who had that. What i want to see is commitment, understanding and brains.

Well I'm in the optimistic camp, although lots of Reading fans on social media warning us to be wary of Samuelson.

Not exactly the most trustworthy of sources, but some worrying questions about company ownership here.

Probably only started supporting us after we won the Intertoto.
