Well I'm not going to get too excited cos he could be like the chicken brothers at Blackburn or Carson Yeung at the blues for all i know.

But at least I know he's not Randy Fucking Lerner so that's something!

Then again, 10 years ago we were saying he's not Doug Ellis.

Just thinking - if he turns out to be a success - and he is Chinese - it will piss off the unwashed in Small Heath big time.
Frankly, that's at the bottom of my list of considerations.

Somewhere below is he carbon neutral like his new club and does he think Jeremy Clarkson is a c***.

We also need to know where he stands on Owls versus Gibbons

Does he have a favourite biscuit?

I am skeptical. Probably a step up from Randy, just, but still, I am not feeling great about this.

Why?

Zero transparency on his or the Recon groups assets is my primary concern. 60M is a trivial amount of money to get via loans or even get through savvy payment structures My fear is we have traded one owner who wanted the club to be self sufficient but would dig into his pocket when needed to one who wants the club to turn a profit and will fund that by Villa's current assets rather than investing.

And no I have no evidence this is their plan, but lack of evidence overall is what makes me wary of these new owners.

We will know in a few weeks what the colour of their money is. If Gabby is starting up front next season we know that we have another Carson Yeung.

The Recon Group are worth $42 billion according to credit reference agency.  I credit checked them at work.

"Lotus Health Group, part of the Health and Agriculture Division, is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and is the largest glutamic company in China and the second largest in the world with 12,000 employees, 10,000 distributors in China and 40,000 worldwide in 70 countries."

has a market cap of 5.7 Bn Chinese Ruan (£600M).

Will he go a stage further than the previous owner, and actually speak to us?

You will never be able to find out the true financial condition of a Chinese owned enterprise.
This is something we are going to have to live with, it will soon become apparent what thier intentions are.

So this has happened now? I think Sky News reporting it as a done deal?

Such is the lesson of this last season, I can't work out if I want to celebrate or not!

Serious question- if the sell price was the reported £60m has Lerner written off the £200m invested by him over the period of his tenure?

I think there's a load of debt being taken on also, maybe as much as £100m.

Thanks Gerrin- that presupposes that repayments would be on a structured basis- perhaps a claim by Lerner on any future profit resulting from a sale?

Where did you get that £100 million debt from? That would value the club at £160M, which is way out of kilter with what you'd think it was worth.

Also pick through the ashes of Lerner's statement, where he says he's not going to make public the financial pluses and minuses, who whatever phrase he used.

I'd guess that he's too embarrassed to admit the £200M plus it's cost him.

Presumably at some point it will become obvious when RAL have to file their final accounts when the company is wound up, assuming Dr X will have his own holding company, which I would guess is a reasonable assumption, especially given that that's how Recon appears to be structured.

Lotus Health Group is just a small part of Recon. They're a sizeable chunk of from what I can work out is one of the smaller of 6 activity divisions that makes up Recon Holdings.
