Name a single far eastern owner/s who have done well in English football

But again that's because the owners in question weren't /aren't good. It's not because they're from the Far East.

With a new owner(s) in the offing, could we have a new childish poll please? Based on when we think the takeover will be completed.
1. Before the transfer window opens.
2. Before the season starts.
3. The day after the transfer window closes.
4. Whenever Admin decides to release the news.
5. Never. It's all a figment of Pat Murphy's imagination.

agreed but a Chinese consortium would liven up the pre during and post match catering no end. I'm already salivating over the crispy fried duck with wan tun noodles on the side.

Randy said the following when he finally spoke last May about putting us up for sale.

"Above all, the debt I owe Aston Villa whether as owner, Chairman, custodian or simply as a fan is to put the Club first".

Does anyone trust him to honour this pledge? Can't say I'd be prepared to bet my mortgage on it

I do.
Randy may have his faults but I believe he is an honourable man.
Is that you noble Mark Antony?

If they turn out to be Cantonese, you will be getting roughly-hacked centipede cooked rare with spicy chicken claws.

There is a growing middle class in China who like their designer clothes. The Chinese shopper tourist is big business over here, so it seems reasonable to suggest that this new class of people with disposable income don't want to settle for fugazzi shirts of their respective team.

I'm sure Pat McMahon told me that all the United and Chelsea shirts he saw when he lived in Beijing were fakes. Pat?

If it's a Chinese takeover we might get "Beijing Red 4 Lyf" joining us on here.

That might be a bit stressful.  We'd have to talk him out of dumping us for Chelsea after every dodgy result.

I don't think there's an issue with stating you'd be nervous about Far East owners . They don't exactly have a Stellar track record in football club ownership - man city , Cardiff , SHA etc etc etc

British/European owners at Leeds, Portsmouth, Rangers etc etc etc.

The point is that you can always find terrible owners regardless of nationality. I don't care where the new owners are from I just want them to be good owners.

Exactly.

Carson Yeung wasn't a terrible owner because he was Chinese.

He was a terrible owner because he was a tinpot hairdresser with (comparatively) not a pot to piss in, who managed to take over Small Heath and run them into the ground, and continue to do so while banged up in the big house on the hill in Hong Kong.

Genius like that has nothing to do with race.

Fault can be found with Sullivan and the Gold brothers though who didn't seem to care what happened with the club as long as they got as much as they could. I can't imagine even Lerner's biggest detractors would put him in the same bracket as them. Lerner has always struck me as someone who genuinely wanted the best for the club and it's supporters but whose lack of sporting experience led him to make some poor decisions that he presumably regrets. I think he will sell to someone who he does think will take the club forward and as such, have resources that allow for a much needed investment.

Yes but to be fair to Gold and Sullivan, it was only Blues, so nobody cared what happened to them.

Also, 'the Far East' is quite a big place to make sweeping generalisations about.
