The fact that prem status for next season is now guaranteed means that there can be no more fannying about on the takeover front.

The talks have gone on for long enough time to see some action.

If he's making sure he's selling to the right person, he should take as long as he needs to.

I was selling a house we had built in Suffolk and we believed we had found the perfect buyer, cash, no chain, move in immediately, firm handshake, suit and tie, pillar of the parish church. However, he kept raising very minor matters to put off parting with any money. By chance my estate agent mentioned him to another estate agent with whom our buyer was also negotiating for another property. It transpired that the man was a compulsive house buyer without a pot to piss in, getting offers in for expensive properties all over the county. The moral of my story is take your time over a deal but beware the time waster.

Robert Rich is a frozen food Tsar, worth $3.2 billion apparently.

Is thetrees a private jet stalker or something?

He seems to be a reliable source of imformation.

Or a reliable source of information on the whereabouts of any wealthy owners private jets.

You can't beat a good bit of private jet speculation.  It's as though the only thing a private jet is used for is to buy a football club.

Mine usually is.

Any chance of a lift Sunday?

Sorry, it's been hired to a Mr Yeung.

Wasnt one of the characters in Wolf Hall called Robert Rich?

The Duke of Norfolk maybe? Or Bernard Hill's character?

Richie Rich I think, also in 'A Man for all Seasons' (played by a fairly young John Hurt) and a real person.

Ah yes.

I even watched AMFAS for the first time a few weeks ago, should have remembered!

I always sell to the person with the money.  Which is exactly what I expect old Randolph to do, all this do the right thing bollocks, like he'll give a shit.

Jon, why do you now think selling responsibly will not come into Randy's thinking? Not dismissing the money thing but do you really believe he'll just sell the highest bidder irrespective of the person or groups motivation and credentials?

My parents suffered something very similar, on the day they were to sign the contract, they had a note from the buyers pushed under the door, pulling out of the deal. It turned out they were serial timewasters. My father wanted couldn't bring himself to punch such a wimp as he probably would have killed him. Turned out his wife had 'issues'. What was strange was that they'd done the same thing to neighbours up the road, so personal health and survival didn't appear to be a issue.

Has anybody got the number of the estate agent selling Randy's pad?

The way I see it, he will choose the best prospective owners of the club out of those who meet the asking price.

that's a fair assessment in my opinion. The first thing will be the asking price and then comes all of the other stuff. You have to hope that between Randy, Fox and Bank of America they will able to make a fair judgement on who to sell to.
