Putting a price tag on something and actually selling it for that amount are 2 separate things entirely.

Weren't there a couple of clubs at the end of the 80's flogged for a pound, on the condition the new owner took on all the debts and stuff?

Chelsea being one, while Ken Wheldon bought Small Heath for 25p.

Fuck ne they saw him coming.

What's more, if you factor in inflation since that time, that 25p would be worth £2 in today's money.

A fool and his money .....

Don't worry, it was in instalments.

Spuds need to get that George Clarke involved, he'd turn a wendy house into a 60,000 seater. He does some shit like that anyway.

Giving someone £1bn for Spurs would be like giving Vivian in The Young Ones a huge sum for his unborn child.

How could anyone attach a monetary value to an institution as beautiful, inspiring and joyous as Tottingham Hotspurs?

Which is the more improbable, Hull being given away or Spuds being sold for £1 billion? Hard call.

I wonder how much of the lurch towards football clubs being put up for sale has to do with people with heavy borrowings seeing higher interest rates being a mighty herd of red eyed cows coming across the endless sky and up a cloudy draw.

Maybe the owners can send them up the motorway to Birmingham. I've heard that there is club for sale in the B6 postcode area that is going for a lot less and has won a lot more, and is higher in the table.

Just watched Arry being interviewed complaining about the fair play rules, he said if ManU spend 200 million on players and QPR spend 10 how can that be fair, went on to say theres the top seven sides and the rest are on another planet.

Didn't QPR vote for the FFP rules?

Arry's still tried his best to spend 200 million at QPR, like he does wherever he goes. It will be funny if QPR go down again this year. The Football League have already said they won't be accepted back into the Football League because of their spending.

Haha yeah, something like that. The episode when he was in Katie Price was good. Her box is like the TARDIS, but with a strange echo.

What do people think of the group who have announced they're interested in spurs?  Seems strange that there is a consortium out there looking for a club and they've selected tottenham when we seem such better value for money.
