seen this?

http://bellsareringing.forumotion.com/t873-preliminary-takeover-meeting

Quote from: HH 8166 (on TBAR)
I had a productive meeting yesterday with Legion Worldwide.
They are a specialist corporate finance house and have a lot of focus/clients who invest in sporting franchises/clubs.. They want me to front a bid and asked if I'd be interested. They would be no fortune to spend like Man City or Chelsea but good funding and a focus on top management, scouting and coaching.
We left the meeting excited and all in agreement it was something we would like to progress but at this stage it was only a preliminary meeting. Now the hard work starts to find the necessary investors/investment.
They have strong worldwide contacts who invest in all sorts of sports clubs/franchises and they do see Villa as an opportunity run right.

As stated it wouldn't be at the levels of Man City or Chelsea but good budget to buy players. Similar to Southampton model with the hope really shrewd management can get us back up there. Thomas Tuchel mentioned as a manager that could be targeted to work with a technical director.
Open and honest communication with the fans and an appetite to do things right and play the right brand of football
Beauty is all infrastructure in place  Stadium, BMH.. Just needs a management team throughout club inc scouts that know what they are doing coupled with reasonable finance that will be nurtured and spent wisely.. Not wasted to the levels that Lerner's money has, that is for sure.

If this happens then great. If it kick starts other bids and gets the process moving again then that is good news also. All I want, like any Villa fan is to get the club in the right hands and be given a fair chance to compete and be run properly once more. I am sure the vast majority of supporters are grateful for at least my proactive movement in trying to help get the club sorted.

Time is of the essence as as things stand we are in trouble and I haven't seen anything happen in the close season thus far that will see us buck the trend of our form in the last 24 games of last season which delivered just 19 points which is blatant relegation form.

This is likely to be my last communication on this as if it is to be pursued then I will shortly have to sign a Non Disclosure agreement.
If it doesn't then I'll be back! UTV
I bet he's idolised on their now.  A true hero and legend.

Where he posted it is totally irrelevant, as I'd be equally critical of his actions was it done on here, but to spill the beans like he's done (assuming it's all kosher, and I've no real reason to doubt him) is completely idiotic.

At least it communicates the main point. That someone approached him to front a bid.

Regardless of who eventually buys the club, at least he'll now be able to say he was instrumental in the sale of the club. Again.

Legion Worldwide look a strange company.

They wouldn't be my choice to go and have a chat about the Villa with.

I'd imagine there's a conflict of interests issue that would automatically make them a non-starter so I wouldn't worry too much.

I hope this Hodgson fella's got the good sense to take Eastie along to any negotiations.

That post has all the fingerprints - the phrases, the vocabulary, the grammar, the subjectivity, the desire to win approval - of an 18 - 20 year old, not a hardboiled seasoned negotiator you would trust to front a £200 million deal. Pure Walter Mitty.

I think that prospect actually scares more than the current predicament.

Me too.

The Southampton model = spend way too much, get in trouble, have to frantically sell players to recover? That one?

To be fair to them, they have just sold two of their academy graduates for £50m +

Yeah but the coaches which developed those players as kids left and went to Fulham a few years ago so arguably that "plus point" was the product of the previous regime.  It's worrying that Southampton are being put forward as the template to follow when other more stable clubs could be suggested.

My guess is the Southampton references shouldn't be taken too literally. For a good while they were being commended for how they recovered from near financial disaster to become a stable mid table team with an academy producing some exiting young players. However like us they were not able manage and therefore sustain it. There are lots of good aspects to what they did. You need a good football mind on the board to ensure if they go down that route they don't get too carried away too soon in their goals and ambitions.

As I have said before the situation our  incompetent owner has placed the club in gives rise to this type of buffoonery.

Frighteningly we may well have to read even more absurd ramblings before the summer is over.

Is anybody really taking what HH has posted seriously?
Because I no I'm not.

Legion Worldwide's website does not inspire confidence.  Comments such as "LSM is based on Regent Street in London" makes the company sound very small time.  That's not to say they could not do a good job but there is scarce evidence on the website that they could suddenly run a large-ish premier league club.

...Which is kinda like the current custodian but without the cash and seemingly a figurehead that likes attention.

Does their investment portfolio include a semi-detached house in Solihull?

Does their investment portfolio include a semi-detached house in Solihull?

Only if it belongs to the potential owners mum.
