Bloody hell, first post and it's more miserable than the weather.  You can leave that bad news over at the Tea Bar if you don't mind!

Apologies! I do hope I'm wrong but over the past few years I've learnt to prepare myself for the worst with Villa.

Christmas is always a good date to throw in. I find Billionaires get sentimental at that time.

First time poster here after being banned from TBAR, it's more of a conspiracy forum over there, they're all bloody mad!

My view on the takeover situation and from what I've heard is that Keith Harris was appointed on the same day as the announcement was made to begin looking for a new owner. Although i would have thought Randy would have put the feelers out a while before that you just never know with him, he's hardly the most astute businessman! Wouldn't be at all surprised if a takeover wasn't completed before Christmas.
Is Keith Harris the new half time entertainment?

Never trust a man whose idea of a career is to stick his hand up animals' arses, unless he's a vet of course.

Oh, and welcome aboard, PR88.

The way I see it we will either be taken over in June/July or December (and repeat for future years).  Basically when the transfer windows are open (or about to open) and the new owners can make meaningfully changes.  Outside these periods the club cannot really go up in value (even if we shot up the league) but can easily go down as the due to the probability of relegation, so any sensible buyer is likely to wait for these opportunities.

If there isn't serious interest at the moment then I think we'll struggle to have a new owner before the start of the season. I know a lot of people believe that there is already somebody lined up and Randy wouldn't have released the statement without there being so but all the indications are that the first steps to selling the club only started this Month.

Right enough's enough I'm bored reading this thread, the bottom line is we all love the Villa so regardless of who is in charge I'm off to renew my ST at the end of the day it's in my blood.

They really don't, there are no indications of anything.  What there is out there is lots of assumptions and guesses based on evidence that may or may not be of any relevance.

What we know as fact is:

In December Lerner converted £90m of loans into equity.
In March the accounts were released showing a net liability of £84m - The loan conversion above wiped that out leaving us with a small accounting asset - with our Finiance director backing this up by stating that, as of that point, the club was self-sufficient.
In May Lerner confirmed that the club was up for sale and BoA/ML were assisting with the process.

Beyond those 3 events anything you read is guesswork.

If it's in your blood at the end of the day, then what about lunchtime and 3pm kickoffs? Best bet would be to share a ST with someone who has Villa in their blood at the start of the day, or at least around brunch time.

Although changing from optimist to pessimist every couple of days I'm sure we must be closer than some think to a takeover.
When Randy thanked the staff and used the word 'transition' I'm sure this implied from old owner to new.

The alternative 'transition' is from a club with an owner that is interested to one that doesn't give a shit.
I really cannot see Randy just releasing these statements for the hell of it.

Two minutes until the NYSE opens. You can really feel the tension and anticipation in here.

I'm going for a walk. This is too much.

He was going to appoint Keith Harris but Orville talked him out of it.

No word coming out of Villa Park because Keith Harris is gagging the CEO.
