My take is that there's a buyer and the sale is agreed on principal but the legal stuff, drawing up the paperwork, due dilligence, fit & proper stuff will take about 4-6 weeks and Lambert will stay at least on that which would make sense.

Transactions this size takes time to complete even when it's been agreed to.
Why would the club be on the open market for sale if there's a buyer ?

If you read the statement again, it's very carefully worded - it doesn't say anywhere if they have buyer already or are looking for one. They wouldn't put out statement like that unless they're sure that club will be sold within a reasonable time.

And Dan Pallet is??

BBC. Either WM or Midlands Today.

His delivery is always wooden.

Yeah sounds like he fell off the back of a lorry
Blokes a plank.

Think you've nailed it. In the abscence of any lead(board)s, I think we've put the block on any deal, and the ITKs are just stringering us along.

(Four in there for pallet repairers like me).

I used to play football with some of the BBC lads at Birmingham Uni about 10 years ago, and Dan was a good player.

The other one though, Steve Clamp, was absolutely the worst footballer I've ever seen. You couldn't try to be as ungainly, it would be physically impossible.

He's the one who does the sport on Central News isn't he?

Yeah, he does now, but he used to split shifts with Dan at the BBC.

Times on our side. Lerner didn't take over until mid August and Oneill didn't until start of August.
Still think this will be all done by July 1st
What stage do you think we are in regarding change of ownership?

No idea.if I was betting on it, I would say due diligence

I am betting on it
And don't think we even have a buyer lined up yet

Alas that is also my feeling. Hope I'm wrong.

Fuck me, there's 'Trouble in Paradise' on TBAR. Lots of questioning the false prophet ADMIN over there, and a group created calling anyone who questions ITK, trolls.

All that from the "friendly" forum.

Was always going to happen, I expected it to be a bit longer, the problem with spouting lots of ITK as fact and getting people sign up on the back of it is that if things start to not go as you've stated people will get pissed off.  I don't think they've been massively off the mark so far but if there is an announcement that Lambert is going nowhere later then I expect a lot of complaints on there.  I also expect a "it's temporary until the takeover completes" response to try to claim their itk is still valid.  The issue being that Lambert getting the sack as soon as the new owners arrive is one of the most likely outcomes in the whole thing, they'd be very brave to stick with him with the current fan opinion and the results last season.

But they are all oh so friendly. And they encourage debate of differing opinions. And the moderators are lovely, and don't censor things etc, like those nasty mods on other sites do.

If he is staying then it's a pretty concrete sign no takeover is imminent. Which isn't to say it may not be done

But I can't see a more convincing case than to simply take things at face value. We're up for sale. No deal is done or nearly done. We may have been close previously but that may have fallen through

It doesn't look good for this season though. We'll be reliant on Okore, some people regaining their form of two years ago, some kids coming through and a small number of very good signings

So that absolutely isn't relegation as a certainty but I struggle to see us not being one of the contenders to go down for much of the season, especially without benteke.

We are going to be in a dogfight all season.

Interesting if there is say 15m to spend, where do you go?

I think 500k on Hoolahan, (they would sell) to give a bit more creativity, Lescott (just pay him a decent wage and get him in!) a left back, and a really strong centre mid would be my first stabs (Leroy Fer please). Get NZogbia fit and Albrighton to stay. Probably need a centre forward on loan or on a free, and a right back option on loan.

Where is that freebee list that is circulated each year?

Rival forums and their shortcomings aside, the club haven't covered themselves in glory over the past week either. Why are we so amateurish at some things? Randy's statement managed to combine the melodramatic and enigmatic, which was always going to result in increased speculation and insecurity. Then we had the fly away Paul's and the furtive closing of restaurant's, again fanning the flames of speculation and conspiracy. I'm in the no deal close yet camp, and tbh, if and its a big if, that's true, Randy would have been better off dwelling silently with the Shunammite a bit longer, only making an official announcement when he had something  definite to say.

I agree.  There's probably enough ability and even more potential within the squad but you won't need to scratch too far below the surface for the whole thing to collapse.  Keeping the whole squad, the whole Club even, united and committed will be absolutely vital if we are to stay up next season.
