Hasn't Bill Kenwright been trying to sell Everton for years?

How many pages will this thread reach before we get sold? I'm going for 1253.

If the new owner has plenty of cash to spend, the won't care too much about paying compo to anyone Randy appoints? Does Randy not have to speculate to accumulate? I just don't see a way forward with Lambert in charge.

The report in the E and S today ends with "Lambert  is willing to continue as manager but is seeking assurances he will not get all of the blame if Villa continue to struggle."

What a reassuring sentence!

Hasn't Bill Kenwright been trying to sell Everton for years?

Has he ever actually stated the club was for sale?

Looking back over the last couple of years, how much speculating has Randy done? You think that might change now?

He hasn't had all the blame, Baker has had a lot of it as well.

Hasn't Bill Kenwright been trying to sell Everton for years?

Everton are a bit of a different proposition to us though aren't they?  Historic club, but they are always going to be second fiddle in their city and would probably require a new ground if they were looking to expand.

That doesn't apply to Newcastle though does it? They're also looking to sell.

Second fiddle in a city that isn't even that big, and which is one of loads of cities in the near vicinity, all of which have football clubs, three of which are perhaps the biggest in the country at the moment in their own ways. It's tough for Everton, who also have extremely limited stadium expansion capacity.

We're the biggest club not just in our city, a much bigger city than Liverpool, we're the biggest club in the whole region. It's entirely possible for potential owners to look at us and see a real opportunity.

Wouldn't say too much but as suspected buyer is America with cash to burn.

The buyer is the United States?

Makes sense, what's a trillion-dollar deficit compared to our debt profile?
He diddn't say USA. He said America. Now that could be both North and South and we could end up being run by half of the UN.

No, but would you buy anything off Mike Ashley?

Hopefully, sacking Lambert and bringing in a manager who knows what he is doing, will make Villa more attractive to sell as they won't be fighting relegation?  Surely Randy knows that no investment AND keeping Lambert will mean relegation and a cheaper sale of the club? One would hope that Randy is way ahead of this. Appoint Moyes, give him some of the 72mill prize money, easier to sell. Am I being naive?

What, Sack Lambert, pay the necessary compo, then appoint Moyes who has just come from managing on a Man Utd level salary?  As well as giving Moyes a budget? You think Lerner will do all that?

I'd hope any new owner would have more vision and appoint a manager with charisma. I've had enough of dour scotsmen.

I think Lerners given up the ghost completely. If we don't sell we're fucked. Lambert will be kept on, given no additional help (that he sorely needs) and we'll be missing our best player for almost half the season.
I would hope that if we're unable to do any deals in the window, then Lambert will be allowed to re-instate some of the bombers back into the squad. If we have to sell anyone, we should be looking to get rid of the likes of Sylla. How much Lambert genuinely had to do with the bomb squad is anyones guess but surely we're better off using the likes of Given, Zogbia, Bent and at a push, even Hutton.
