Changed my mind on Kozak. Got roundly slagged by the usual suspects when I had the temerity to suggest he had very little to recommend him in my book. Then he started to improve dramatically before his untimely injury. He might carry on this improvement next season. All the signs are there. It must be the expert coaching which was bringing him up to speed!

Not so sure about a replacement for Benteke but I do like Kozak and he was just starting to settle in on the pitch before he got injured. He'll score goals for us I reckon.

He's not a replacement for Benteke, they're very different players, as I said, Benteke is superb with his back to goal, kozak's first thought it to get turned and facing the right way.  To play Kozak instead of Benteke we'd need lots of width and midfielders getting involved higher up the pitch.

I'm sure you're  right but to compare the boy to the werewolf is daft.

Back on thread. Our friends 'The Clangers' are currently discussing a crucial meeting between our owner, Mr Lambert, and Mr Faulkner in a super duper restaurant in the States.

This thought suddenly occured to myself..  Is Mr Egg still open?  The finest cusine that I have ever experienced.

Why couldn't Lerner have held it there and saved valuable finance?

I've said it about Kozak a few times, some strikers are great with their back to goal some aren't.  Benteke works well for us because he's one of the former, he's a genuine target man, not just because of his height or strength but because he's comfortable playing that way.  Kozak isn't really he does get involved and he's not terrible at it but you can tell what he really wants is the ball in front of him around the box, at which point he's a great finisher and has the ability to get a shot away under pressure.  He's basically a more modern version of Bent in that he wants to be in the box as a finisher but he's also willing to put the work in outside the box even if it's not want he wants to be doing.

I like him, I think he'll do really well in the premier league longer term and I firmly believe him and Benteke with a clever player pulling the strings in behind would be a fantastic partnership (look at Liverpool and compare Benteke to Suarez and Kozak to Sturridge, we need a Stirling/Coutinho to buzz around them).

With Sturridge and Suarez you have a LOT of mobility and 2 players that are happy and comfortable to drop into midfield areas (which I think is vital if you want to play 2 up front).  Whilst Benteke is better than most players of his ilk when he pops up on the wings I would be reluctant to ask/expect him to become our extra midfielder if we're getting over-run in the centre of the park.

Very true, we'd be sacrificing some mobility for the power that 2 6'4 strikers bring to proceedings though.  Both of them work hard enough to do a job, I reckon both do more defensively than Sturridge for example.
