End of season awards dinner tomorrow night has been cancelled

Do the press attend this event or is it just players?  It's a pretty poor state of affairs if morale is so low that the players/club/staff do not fancy a bit of a knees up after a long hard season.  I find it a bit odd.  Illogical even.

What's there to celebrate?

Why set the players & management up for a load of grief that they will no doubt get & mostly deserve or has Randy already stopped all spending?

Doogan said openly it was because of the poor season. I think this is the club trying to be respectful to the fans.

Right call I think.

I wonder if it's in light of that twitter photo from yesterday?

Fair enough. We shouldn't be celebrating failure.

I'd have thought it was more likely because of the last 6 weeks.

That may have had something to do with it. The club would not want young men getting drunk and posting things on the net that would make our current situation look even worse than it already is.

I'm surprised they have done it at such short notice - will piss of sponsors etc as they use it as a jolly and hand out awards etc?

Of course there is. One day. Just hardly 'imminent', though. That was weeks ago.

Been at work and had to wait to get the chance to look at this fantastic website to see what Randy had said.  Imagine my excitement when I anticipate that we have been taken over by a consortium of billionaires who want to rival the very best of them.  Ooops.  "I haven't go the heart for it any more, is there anyone out there who wants to buy a football club?  They are crap and don't do very well every year, but if you fancy giving me a pile of money, please do".

What a major disappointment.  Lambert still the Manager too?  Can't say I am surprised though.  This is Aston Villa after all.

None of our lot deserve an award but I'll tell you who does. The away fans who have been quite magnificent all season.

Gentlemen and ladies I salute you.

Thats me done for this season. I want to forget about football for a few months!

Enjoy your holidays!

Will people please can the doom and gloom. Randy said goodbye in that statement and wouldn't have announced it if we were just fishing for a new buyer.

It is on.
