Will people please can the doom and gloom. Randy said goodbye in that statement and wouldn't have announced it if we were just fishing for a new buyer.

It is on.

He also mentioned transition, too, which I thought was interesting.

Shock horror, professional footballers have an end of season drink on the team coach.   meh.

As others have pointed out, no problem with them having a drink on the bus on the way home.  Problem arises when one of them puts a picture of them on a public site suggesting a mood of celebration after an abysmal performance at the end of an awful season which has left a lot of fans, disappointed, hurt and angry.

Gabby's comments show that he and his colleagues obviously can't see what the issue is.

This, it's nothing to do with them having a couple of beers quite clearly.

Does it really matter? I envy the problems of anyone who can get worked up about whether they seemed to be enjoying themselves too much.

Spot on. It just proves how out of touch the players are with the fans. Have a drink, no worries, but post pictures and videos in which it looks like the players are celebrating after a season like that? Get a grip, Gabby.

Bit sad that it hasn't worked out for Randy Lerner, on the football side he's been crap, the plan just had no substance at all and was based totally on the knowledge of Martin 1990's O'Neill but it's clear that he's a good man at heart, made a lot of mistakes and is disappointed it's ended like this, with a whimper and 4 relegation battles in a row.

We move on, hope for the best and as Randy said when he took over, they are only ever custodians of this great club, the fans are the ones who it truly belongs to.

It's totally not about them enjoying themselves, though. I entirely get that. I'm sure they don't mope around the house feeling sad for seven days after another defeat, and wouldn't expect them to.

It's about the fact that he posted it on social media - meaning lots of fans who follow him are going to see it - without thinking that maybe, it might be more diplomatic not to be doing that, after the season we've just had.

NB - the "that" above isn't having a few beers, it is sharing it on social media.

Just shows, they're either thick or inconsiderate, or both.

Chill the fuck out, it is all but done

Just found this interview on Youtube with Robert Kraft.

I quite like the cut of his jib and I reckon if he does buy us he'll get what Aston Villa is about.

I get it, but really, isn't life a bit short to get angry with them? We're all grown-ups, if someone on Twitter pisses youoff it's easy enough to stop following them. The full-on bitter victim thing just seems so depressing for everyone

It isn't as if people are frothing at the mouth with indignation, though is it?

They're a bit stupid. It's been a shit season. The club is drifting. Nobody knows what is happening.

You couild quite easily apply the "not worth getting upset about" tag to all of those things.

I'm sure nobody is letting anger at this grip their lives.

does anyone know the rationale behind the reference to the Shunammites? It's been bothering me all day. I thought they were women so I'm perplexed, as Randy is clearly a man.
