I wonder what happened to Ray Ranson? And the man who sold Woolworth's stores - it's assets, basically - and who then opened a doomed catalogue sideline at the business?

Whist the statement isnt usual in its wording, the message and tactics are pretty traditional.  He almost certainly has been talking to someone who hasnt matched his valuation.  These statements are a way of flushing further buyers out.  You engage a bank to market the club, they are a highly paid estate agent in this case, but there is no need to do that if you have a deal done directly.  This will force the hand of the interested party into either uping their bid or holding on believing they have offered fair value. We'll see how it plays out but this could take a long long time and the Browns sales shouldnt be viewed as the way he does things.  It will be a buyers market and these things are normally very very slow...

If this doesn't progress over the summer, we can only sell to buy - & we're starting from a pretty low opening point.  I fear for us next season if our saviour doesn't arrive.

Alternatively, they've been engaged with the instruction 'Wrap it up!" ???

I merely post here because I got banned from the Rover 45 Owners forum.

That's terrible news.  Your long running feuds with VitesseBoy and Tata Till I Die were stuff of legend.

Well this isn't going to be a short process so in the meantime we're in limbo.

Can't see Randy putting any more money into the club so we're pretty much screwed in terms of new signings until a buyer is in place.

Bad times :-(

Well you pop out to get dishwasher tablets for the good lady and everything goes ballistic. Yes its goodbye from Randy but its quite possible that he already has his buyer, very likely I would think. Obviously he cannot give names until everything is signed sealed and delivered and in any case it is standard buisness practice for the buyer to announce their aquisition. If he hasn't this statement seems a little pointless.

Expect more news by the end of June at the latest.

As for Lambert he is safe until the new people come in. Hopefully they will have done a bit of groundwork and will let him go at the earliest possible opportunity.

A buyer to be found within the next 6 weeks is the anticipation from Lerner- that's a tweet from Swanson at Sky.

Surely now he has announced he is going to sell the club - he wouldn't want to risk any potential sale by relegation - therefore whilst not spending big money Lerner will spend what is needed to avoid a repeat of the last 4 seasons - maybe wishful thinking ?

After nine years of being on here - great first post!

Oh well, he has done it before I suppose.

Yes that's my view too. I think it's the worst of all outcomes and we face starting next season in a weakened state.
