The thing about ITK / TBAR, to be honest, if someone has what they genuinely think is ITK information, then what is the harm in them telling people about it?

It makes things more interesting, we all want to read it, and sometimes it turns out to be correct. The problem is, more often that not, it turns out to be untrue.

Where eyebrows get raised at TBAR isn't that they said this was going to happen, or that was - and it's probably worth remembering, it might still happen - but that they made such a big song and dance (admin announcement, Jim White style intro for "Admin", "announcement at six", all that) about it, and said that the deal was "done" and announced the names of the new owners, and went on to welcome them to B6.

It's nothing malicious, it's just a bit daft, really - when you go out of your way to play up your knowledge on a subject to the most like that, you need to be 100 percent sure you're right.

It's not like it has the importance of the general election or the Ukraine crisis, though, is it? It's just a load of chitter chatter about a football club, carried out across five or six sites by at most 1000 people in total, I reckon.

I don't get why, if they share ITK, people get slaughtered and then complain about it.

Haven't they seen this happen 1000 times before? Why moan about it and elevate it to an importance it doesn't have? And, really, from the other side, if someone gets it wrong, why shouldn't people then take the piss? That's take the piss, but again, not take it too seriously? It is textbook internet football discussion stuff, textbook.

Basically, whoever it was on here who was posting ITK as he knew the groundsman, he got slaughtered, and it turned out to be true - funny.

Admin gets a Jim White on transfer day entrance thing on TBAR and welcomes our new American overlords, only for it not to actually happen - funny.

Someone posts some clearly made up "ITK" about Al Fayed buying us - funny.

Yes, it's annoying, disturbing and scary at times, but above all, it's pretty funny. I'd rather spend the summer with this sort of stuff going on, even though most of it is nonsense, and the possibility of a real takeover in the background, than spend a summer in the knowledge nothing can change, we'll still be buying shit players for peanuts and playing terrible football next season.

People are questioning why we had the statement last month and then this one today. I do wonder how much certain sites launching with ITK fanfares and then the press reporting these as facts led to last months statement?

What is the TBAR reaction to the above news release?

Pandemonium! 😄

All this statement does (IMHO) is leave us in even further limbo than before.

Lets say no one comes forward to buy us before the August kick off, Lerner has clearly said he's lost interest so he wont be dipping into his pocket again. And Lambert will also still be here by the looks of it and i can't see Lerner sacking him.

So what are the positives to take from it ?

I'm sure Everton have been looking for a buyer for what seems like forever yet they haven't found one yet.

Let's all hope it doesn't drag on too long.

^^This^^

If it doesn't get sorted quick, we're knackered for next season. We can assume there'll be no new investment whilst Lerner is still in charge and Lambert is as good as a dead man walking.

There weren't exactly many stepping forward to buy Newcastle when he put them up for sale, and the cost would've been roughly the same as us.

Admin has made a statement on p 19 of their thread about this. Something to do with people and biscuits.

I think that we're bollocksed.
We truly are in limbo land now. No progressive decisions on players/manager/coaching staff can be made and new season  F in starts in 13 WEEKS. Yes 90 or so days!

We aren't in limbo. The deal is all but done and should be announced in the next few weeks. I don't see any other way to read it.

This is bad news for us

I cannot see Lambert being allowed to buy any players for next season, it would make no sense for any player to come to us because if we get new owners, chances are they will want their own manager in, and he may not want the players that Lambert has signed.

We are in total LIMBO, and until a new owner comes forward we will remain that way, it is going to be a long summer! after all there are not that many people with £200 million + to buy Aston Villa.

I think people should chill out. That is Lerner's goodbye statement. The deal is all but done and the new owners will do a grand unveiling in the next few weeks.

Why on earth would he make that statement if he didn't have something lined up? And it would play out in the exact same way as it did when he flogged his American football team.

Exactamundo.

I think we should all take a deep breath here.

Can I breathe out yet? My neck has gone purple

You would hope that Lerner is a savvy enough business man to at least research if there were any potential buyers for a PL club before putting them up for sale.

There seems to a be a split developing between the 'we're all doomed' and the 'chill out, it'll happen' factions.

I think I'm in the latter. I guess some people were expecting an announcement that the deal was cut and dried and have taken it as though nothing has gone behind the scenes up til now.
