Fuck knows what he'll say but my best bet is in line with collymore - intent to sell, maybe some early discussions, aim to conclude as soon as possible, manager will get support in meantime now that big earners off wage bill

But I'm completely guessing

It will be one maybe two printed paragraphs announcing the new 5 year plan which will include new stadium naming rights , better shirt sponsorship & maybe something about twinning up with a club overseas , probably in the MLS.

I doubt the state will say anything other than Lerner intends to sell, but in the short term he will do his best for the club.

A few thoughts:

1 - Where has this almost acceptance by lots of people that we are being sold , and to boot, to a super rich owner actually come from really? A fan forum, where anyone can write anything, knowing that say what they are enough that people who want to believe will convince themselves what they are saying is actually true? Don't get me wrong i want a mega rich owner so we can win, and the signs of cost cutting to enhance the attractiveness of the club to potential buyers can only be a good thing . That said people are getting carried away with the assumption we have been sold to someone like the Oracle dude. Its just wishful thinking.

2 - I can't see the theory that Randy is going to say in the statement he is going to invest more into transfers being true. Why would he? All that does is push future transfer prices up. All he has to do is give whoever the manager is the money and get on with the transfers quietly as he always has.

3 - I have no issue with Randy, he tried, failed and is now cutting his costs, Too much blind faith in previous management burnt his fingers (and wallet). If he does leave he will go with my good will. Some of  the vitriol on here towards his is laughable. He never had to plough all that money in you know, he chose too. He has done more for villa than alot of owners that come into Prem league teams since him have. I still think he regrets McRelegator though!

No worries then. Mind you, Hammarby are in the Second Division. Sack the Board!

Heh. We do that on a regular basis but it seldom do us any good - we're a notoriously badly managed club. AEG helped us avoid bankruptcy when they came in but you won't find many Hammarby-supporters with anything positive to say about AEG beyond that.
They have only really been interested in developing/controlling the large sports complex where Hammarby (and others) play, in particular moving us from our old stadium to a new, shiny, larger one. AEG is a business making money out of sports. They'd be no saviors.

The high wager earners now gone mantra is bollocks They aren't. Bent, N'Zogbia, Hutton, Given are all still here being paid to do nothing/ very little. And we still have the 8th highest wage bill in the league;  Randy's statement might well be only one of intent, and if so, he isn't  going to be putting significant sums into the club this summer for squad development. If Benteke had stayed fit, my guess is he would have been sold and that, plus the prize money, would have been the transfer budget. It's been said a million times before I know, but unless we have a buyer, we're down.

Good post by Kevilla. The Man City factor did kill us. I remember The General always saying that Randy didn't have a machine that printed money. Man City do.

I think the issue now is one we've always had apart from the two years in the early 80's and that is we haven't got enough money/ astute enough leadership to compete. Doug was great in his own way but he completely missed the early Sky money/post Euro 96 opportunities that other clubs took advantage of. I mean where Arsenal in a knackered old Highbury really that much better placed than us to spring to where they are now?

Building a ground that allowed an extra 22000 people to see each home match, bringing in an additional £16.7m on tickets alone per season (pricing them at a meagre £40 each) was a good move for them. Realistically, it is much more as tickets are now much more expensive than when they moved there.

I just can't see why he would do this. Being openly for sale is not a good negotiation tactic to take.
He would be better off saying nothing until he had something more concrete to report on.
After all, the club have dismissed reports of a sale pretty quick before.
Plus announcing intent to sell etc, will hit season ticket sales big time.

I think the biggest disappointment about Mondays statement will be there won't be a statement on Monday
Lots of people expecting it to be on Monday, but this was never said by Randy,
Could be anytime in the next few weeks

If this has been addressed earlier in this thread I apologise but is there a time mentioned anywhere that the Statement by RL will actually be made ? . Listening to the  Pat Murphy  interview ( joust ? ) with Lambert last night , My impression was that it would be almost immediatly post-game , I imagine it will be given at a time that will ensure maximum Press/ TV coverage , maybe even in time to get the evening Football Talk Shows . Conversely , I guess , the opposite could be true and it could be given later in order to avoid same .
Incidently ( slightly off topic )  am I the only one who finds Pat Murphy,s efforts at being the ' Paxman' of Sports interviewers , incredibly irritating , I thought his constant references to PL being on the verge of unemployment , rather insensitive , personally I find the idea of anyone losing their job  regretable , albeit sometimes necessary .......Godzvilla!

If you want maximum publicity you won't do anything on the day the league title is won.

Lerner it said it would addresses at end of the season.
Lambert mentioned 6/7 days earlier in the week which would mean a statement Tuesday/Wednesday.
However, he also claims to be totally in the dark anout what will be said, in which case it could be anytime after final whistle tomorrow.
Lerner has done his last two statements on a Sunday though.....

Good time to bury it if it's bad news?
