Glenn Peen said there was no buyer lined up from day one - he said it would just be Lerner saying in a statement that he wants to sell. Glenn Peen is always right.

Chinese proverb say: "When times is tough, turn to Peen for truth and touching."

Chinese proverb right. Glenn Peen right.

i'll love your name, could be a rock star

I find it really odd that Faulkner is in the dark.

If that is true then to me it signifies he's just going to say he will listen to offers.

Surely with due dilligence going on, there is no way that Faulkner could not know anything.

I have a creeping feeling we are going to find ourselves in the worst situation - a "want to sell, no buyer" vacuum.

If that's the case it must surely mean no investment beyond they minimum and paralysis over the manager situation

it just doesn't seem to be the way the man does business though. I'm sure he's sold up.

But not even Lerner would be daft enough to believe he could sell a championship club for £200 million, so if there is no buyer, he'll have to invest to keep Villa in the Premier.

Collymore knows no more than any of us he was posting the other day Larry Ellison was at the game when there was  absolutely no truth in it . Randy's right hand man and the Manager who only a few months ago were talking about a new contract with are both in the dark FACT ! . When the decision was made on McLeish it was made the day after the Bolton game but they kept their councel between 2 people now it's down to 1 person Lerner !However I would not be surprised at all if all Lerner was going to say was he was inviting offers and go back to his original statement in 2006 that if he couldn't move it forward blah blah would move aside for someone else . If we think there are people queing up to pay 200 million then I just can't see it .
Everybody within the club seems to have heard a rumour but nobody really known anything other than RL . Ian Taylor would know more than Collymore and I spoke with him on Saturday he has heard the same rumours but nothing at all that's concrete were his words to me !

Your updates are appreciated, but if what you say here is the case then perhaps your previous takeover posts should have come with a disclaimer, that you've heard rumours which don't, and can't bear much weight. No offence, of course, but as you say, nobody knows a thing except Randy and his innermost circle of confidants. We don't know who is in that circle, but we can be sure it's a tight one. So, we wait.

All this suddenly becomes clear, and it's almost a stroke of genius! You see, after Greg Dyke's speech, what we have here is a team that's been carefully crafted for three years to enter the new 'B' League! It's only 'almost' genius though, because they forgot that we still needed a bloody 'A' team too!

Not trying to be overly cynical here but are Stan's sources any more credible than God's er... I mean Admin's? I'll wait to hear it directly from Randy next week.

Collymore changes his tune from day to day and he's probably covering all bases to bring out the discussion for his show.

The Dyson and Henry the Hoover clues lead me to believe Peter called it correctly with Dusty Bin.

Very disrespectful.

He owns the club and cannot be bothered to give up a day of his time to have the decency to come over and put things straight. I'm not asking for a speech given from the steps of the Holte end addressing us, I'm asking that senior employees be fronted with the news, if any, like a decent man. Front up and take some responsibility, don't hide in your Dr Evil reclusive mansion and fire off a letter to the media depart you coward.

This all has an air of us being an annoyance to him now, his tone he took during his little statement of a statement was snappy. So sell the club for whatever you can get for it, it wont be what you put in either, because you fucked it up, WE OWE YOU NOTHING.

If he isn't selling, do you think he should put more money in?

No, I'd expect him to do pretty much fuck all, like he is at the moment and let everyone else shoulder the responsibility for his company. I'd also expect him to be pilloried for being a clown of the utmost order and to get no respect from the fans.

I'd like to know is he isn't selling and isn't contributing anything then what the point is of him owning a top club? A billionaires midlife crisis purchase.

We owe Lerner a fair amount of gratitude. When he took over, we were certs for relegation and the club was stagnant from top through to bottom. His coming not only rejuvenated the team, but he invested in the training facilities, stadium and surrounding area. His mistakes come not through his desire to want us to succeed, but through his trust of a bitter little man, who shafted him and probably destroyed his trust in football.
I find it incredible that a man that has tried to rejuvenate the club is told that we owe him nothing.

Randy has made us worse than when he took over. Well done that man. We owe him nothing. Thanks for the pub, thanks for the shit team. It's time to move on from MON by the way. It was 4 years ago.

He's done fuck all, he's give us fuck all, we owe him fuck all. So fuck off Lener, take fuck all with you, oh, and if you could find somebody else to give us a couple of hundred million who we can tell to fuck off in a few years time, that'd be good of you.
