He owns the club and cannot be bothered to give up a day of his time to have the decency to come over and put things straight. I'm not asking for a speech given from the steps of the Holte end addressing us, I'm asking that senior employees be fronted with the news, if any, like a decent man. Front up and take some responsibility, don't hide in your Dr Evil reclusive mansion and fire off a letter to the media depart you coward.

We owe Lerner a fair amount of gratitude. When he took over, we were certs for relegation and the club was stagnant from top through to bottom. His coming not only rejuvenated the team, but he invested in the training facilities, stadium and surrounding area. His mistakes come not through his desire to want us to succeed, but through his trust of a bitter little man, who shafted him and probably destroyed his trust in football.
I find it incredible that a man that has tried to rejuvenate the club is told that we owe him nothing.

I have no problem with Randy's intentions, as I genuinely believe they were and are good. His problem is that he didn't seek out adequate experience or learn from his mistakes. I doubt it'll happen, but I hope he sells us to good owners who have a bit more nous.

If the article means Lambert doesn't know, that's entirely feasible. But he'll have informed members of the board and certainly his Chief Executive.

Not sure it is optimism Paul. I just don't see why a man of so few words would need to announce that things are staying as they are. The mere fact that he has stated that he will be addressing the ownership rumours suggests that there is actually something to address. If everything was staying the same he could have killed it very quickly in the release a few weeks back. Something will change in my opinion. At least something of significance for it to warrant an announcement.

Me too, but this is Randy Lerner we're talking about. His communication skills are non-existent. That whole statement was just more than a little bit weird - and looked very much like it hadn't gone through Doogan to me, it was so odd - and it's not really difficult to imagine Lerner actually just clouding matters and giving the impression there's some huge announcement when, actually, he just means "stop going on about the ownership of the club while we are trying to stay up".

I've a horrible feeling there's going to be the mother of all anti-climaxes here next week.
