Appearing at a home game would be a start
I don't really get this "why is our chairman not at the games?" stuff. Why is it so important that the chairman has to be at the games?
I just want the chairman to run the club effectively and provide sufficient funds to deliver some progress: not being at the game is a 'nice to have'.

Fact is:Randy hasn't delivered the basics in terms of running the club effectively even if the funds have been forthcoming.

The owner should sit on a huge throne and show his dissatisfaction via the traditional thumb method

Len Fairclough is innocent.

Lambert looks like the straggling wildebeest in a nature documentary about lions

Like the baby elephant in that bit on Gogglebox the other week.

Idiot runs across road, not a crossing, emerges between 2 parked cars with 2 children in tow, then shouts at me when I nearly run them over.

very good...

Like I said a few pages back, I'm more and more convinced that the announcement is going to be an enormous disappointment. The idea that it's going to be some super-billionaire from the United States who, of all the things he could do, has decided to buy a terribly underperforming soccer team in the English West Midlands is phenomenally unlikely, when you think about it. Why on earth would they do it?

Yeah, I mean it's not like there's ever been an American billionaire who's bought a "soccer team in the English West Midlands" before, so how on earth could it ever happen again!

Touche S_H!

Seriously though, we know Lerner is a bit of a special case given his emotional attachment to us from his Cambridge days. We know how great a club is Aston Villa, we can take pride in the area and the tradition, but American billionaires are by and large ignorant of this and are more likely to be attracted to London as it's a city they know, an 'Alpha +++ Global City' as their wanker advisors would say. It's not impossible, it's just really quite unlikely.

Birmingham was yesterday named as the second best city in Western Europe in which to invest (after Barcelona). Recently it was also named as the best Foreign Direct Investment destination in the world, beating entire countries Czech Republic and Columbia into second and third. Maybe some yanks read about it.

Also, it is by far the second biggest city in the richest football economy on earth and has only one club in it that anyone gives a fuck about.

Can anyone tell me that if we ever get sold to a multi billionaire what the financial fair play rules would mean for us? Would he be able to invest the silly money that Man City have for example? Or would we realistically have missed the flaming boat again?

We could do what Man City do, even twice what Man City have done but once in Europe we'd get a slap on the wrists and would be told to stop being naughty.

We'd get fined 50m like City were, but who gives a shit, frankly, we'll be so fucking minted.

We could hire a helicopter, hover over Platini's office in Switzerland and drop £50m in 1p pieces on him.

We'd need more than one:-

5,000m 1p coins weigh 17.8m kg, or 17,800 metric tons.

The maximum payload of even a Mil Mi-26 is 20 metric tons, so we'd need a fleet of 890 Mil Mi-26's to carry all the coins. They'd take years to produce. ;)

The good news is, we'd have the funding behind us to build as many factories as we need.

Probably.

I am English, and can genuinely say, 80 percent of people I come across in every day life are also English, and at least 75% of them are absolute ******.

I'm all in favour of removing immigration controls. Maybe then we'd have the re-installation of the spirit of entrepeneurship (like the way immigration built the USA) and, most importantly, I wouldn't have to put up with so many obnoxious English ****** all the time.

Indeed. Nothing exemplifies it more than the chinless faux-enthusiasm for St George's Day. It was never a thing, ever. But all it takes is a lost empire and a tennis player in a Paraguay shirt and every bald whiny twat with a grudge gets to Wetherspoons in a white and red waistcoat.

I don't really like the EU, but if I ever get to vote on a reunification with France, I'm voting oui. And you can fuck off with your auld alliance, Alex Salmond, we're getting Plantagenet over here.

Sorry, got a bit off topic there.

Yes, if you do it with a bit of dash.
