But then I don't think that at all.
Peace and love and claret and blue.

I think there's going to be some disappointment next week. We'll probably announce a new partnership deal / shirt sponsor / stadium renaming  and Lambert will sign a new contract.

I have an inkling you may be wrong Silhill. I think something of major importance will be announced at Villa Park next week.
I hope so. I'm keeping my expectations in check though. To avoid disappointment.
Maybe they'll announce we are filling in the North Stand corners ?

Is the "nothing's going to happen next week we'll all be disappointed" a case of thinking about it too much, and because we're Villa fans nothing good can happen to us? I have no idea what will happen next week, but just because nothing has happened except a lot of rumour and suggestion doesn't mean what happens next week will be negative. I don't read anything into Lambert's comments except that he looks defeated and resigned to no longer being manager. Aside from that, my only take is that if there was nothing to announce Randy could have dismissed everything in his original statement. He didn't and I really don't think he wants to see things continue as they are which is why I think he'll either sell or announce an investment partner.

I reckon that, 'it's a bit different' may mean the joining of 2 clubs.
That's all.
Could be Albion.
Whoever, they'd better sing the same songs.

The 'it's a bit different' was merely in response to being asked if he'd been in this situation before. It's all a bit 'blessed are the cheesemakers'.

Blow me, SV I know we are a pessimistic bunch on here but you strike me as a 'glass not even half full and if it was I wouldn't like the taste' kind of guy/girl. We are safe, the odds are that we are getting a new owner with money and most likely a shiny new North Stand to go with it. Now stop listening to Radiohead and enjoy!

As of now we don't know which day this statement is going to be announced. If he names the day i imagine the media will be out in force at villa park.

Ha ha fair enough, just trying to manage expectations here. At one end of the spectrum there's the we're being taken over by the US's 5th richest man and the other end is the miserable old farts like me.
It will probably be somewhere in the middle. Or lower middle  ;)

Here's the thing - if his statement is that he's staying on and with more money, would he not have told Paul Lambert? He's got no idea and looks like he suspects it won't be good news for him. I can't imagine that it would be Lambert staying on with Lerner and more money, or Lambert would look a little chirpier.

For two years he's been fighting the bastards off and then, bang, he goes limp and caves into his fate.

Three months ago there was regular reporting that lambert was going to get a new contract

Either that wasn't true, or it must cast a doubt on this takeover stuff surely? Unless that's happened all quite suddenly why would Lerner be considering a new contract?

I've seen a leaked segment of the statement.

It said 'the UK Construction Market continues to gather pace and grew by 2.4 percent in the last quarter.'
