It's all very rumours in the playground at the moment. Cynicism and being sceptical are usually the right path with Villa. I just cannot see why anyone would want to spend 200 million on it. Then throw cash at the playing side. It's a get poor quick scheme.

I sell overpriced stuff on eBay all the time

I have no doubts that RL will state that he is willing to sell if an appropriate buyer comes in but that no one has come in or is likely to. People expecting to hear him tell us we're going  to be taken over are seriously setting themselves up for disappointment.

Again I would question the point of a statement saying we're up for sale if there's nothing going on in the background.

Because all season fans have been stating he should be listening to offers or touting the club in public.

There's still no point in making a statement about it.

I think it would be to appease fans and take pressure off Lambert in a difficult situation.

We'll have to wait and see then but there's no way we'd be on the verge of takeover without it being in the public domain. People knew about RL long before it became official. As I say, it's all speculation and more wishful thinking than anything with substance.

I don't think him saying he's going to sell with no prospective buyer would appease the fans at all, quite the opposite in fact. That would suggest we would be in massive trouble.

I pray there is multi-billion pound takeover, because although I'm not blaming Lambert tonight it's frankly embarrassing how poor we are. We set up like a lower league club tonight, because we are stripped to the bare bones with hardly any talent and it's pathetic.

Yes please

We surely can't survive another season with this lot. It will happen eventually

If the announcement Is that he is looking for a buyer then that just about sums his ownership up, out of touch. At what point during the season did he decide he wanted out? Was it when we didn't celebrate the Southampton nil nil like this decades Tranmere?

Surely at some point during the last 3 years of cut backs and fuck ups he realised that he wasn't cut out to run a piss up in a brewery and needed to find a buyer.

If he's just started now then it beggars belief and will bring more shit down on him then saying nothing at all. And as for Lambert, I can't face another season with that boring prick in charge.

If the club doesn't have a buyer, if Randy does not release serious funds, and if he keeps Lambert in charge, we will be relegated next season or very close to it. Same shit, different season.
