I love the smell of rich Americans - vanilla, diesel and ink.

So what happens if, say, Watford and Udinese both qualify for The Europa League? Does one of them have to withdraw?

Whichever one shoots down the pig flying over Vicarage Road should that unlikely scenario come to pass would stay in the competition and the other would drop out but be compensated by receiving the complete works of Elton John.

It's hardly impossible. Wigan were in Europe this year, Small Heath were in it last and Hull will be in it next year.

Let's face it, they've more chance of winning the FA Cup then us. Then again, so have Aylesbury.

Just heard Collymore say that he's heard Lerner is going to announce the club is for sale but there isn't a buyer lined up. He seems to change his tune every 10 tweets.

Are you sure he's not just reporting rumours rather than suggesting it's inside or good quality info?

He was quoting people connected to Villa, whatever that means.

Well that is the worst possible news if true.

Yes. He's KFA as opposed to being ITK. Then again, ITK is KFA anyway.

Edited due to incorrect acronym.

I thought Stan was quite downbeat about it really. If he knew anything concrete, no doubt he'd spill the beans as he is a journo after all. That said, Villa tend to keep themselves to themselves, blood out of a stone comes to mind, specially with Randy.

Appearing at a home game would be a start
I don't really get this "why is our chairman not at the games?" stuff. Why is it so important that the chairman has to be at the games?
I just want the chairman to run the club effectively and provide sufficient funds to deliver some progress: not being at the game is a 'nice to have'.

Fact is:Randy hasn't delivered the basics in terms of running the club effectively even if the funds have been forthcoming.

The owner should sit on a huge throne and show his dissatisfaction via the traditional thumb method

Did you know that it was actually the 'thumb up' that meant death, rather than the often wrongly depicted 'thumb down'. Just thought I'd add that.

I'm bored. Has Derek Spires put a sign up outside VP yet?
Yet another shite appointment by Randy.

Everyone knows you get a better price selling with Halifax or Shipways.

He sounded to me like he didn't know anything.

I dunno, I still find this takeover stuff hard to believe myself, but that's mostly because I'm of the mindset that brilliant stuff doesn't happen to us anymore.

I find it hard to believe that either:
a) Anyone will give Randy anything approaching the £250M he needs to break even.
b) Randy will accept anything approaching the minimum £100M loss he's looking at if anyone offers what the club is probably worth right now.

It's all very rumours in the playground at the moment. Cynicism and being sceptical are usually the right path with Villa. I just cannot see why anyone would want to spend 200 million on it. Then throw cash at the playing side. It's a get poor quick scheme.
