I'm certain it means not very much.  You do the math.

It tells me that he knows the square root of feck all about the new owner just like the rest of us.

Assuming fuck all to be non zero (no point in it having a square root otherwise) and less than 1 (it wouldn't be fuck all if it were 1 or greater), then the square root of fuck all is actually a bigger number than fuck all itself.

I just thought I would point this out.

Why would you assume "fuck all" was non-zero when it is a well known synonym for zero?

Fuck all = zero, so the square root of fuck all is also zero as 0 x 0 = 0.
I always thought it was less than zero.

If fuck all is less than zero, then the square root of fuck all is an imaginary number.

Does that help?

If f*ck all is less than zero, then the square root of f*ck all is a negative number.

Perhaps seeing it in concrete form - not Ron, but maybe somebody who you know was itsotp a few times but looking back, what was the impact?!
A unit called the 'Harewood' may come to mind.

If f*ck all is less than zero, then the square root of f*ck all is a negative number.

No it's not. If you multiply any two negative numbers, you get a positive number. -5 x -3 is 15, not -15. So because of this any positive number has TWO square roots, one positive and one negative. So the two square roots of 4 are 2 and -2, the square roots of 100 are 10 and -10, and so on.

Due to this quandary, mathematicians invented "imaginary numbers" to serve as the square root of negative numbers. The square root of -1 is 1 imaginary (or just 1i). The square root of -25 is 5i, etcetera.

They're not really less or more than zero they're just sort of more... imaginary!

Correct. You've just earned a house point.

So, in Villa terms, an imaginary number = a No.10 we could have gone after in January, who might have joined us but didn't = sq root of F all.

Although to counter that the fact that Randy has said he is making a statement at the end of the season is in itself significant and largely unprecedented. So I'd suggest that implies that it must be reasonably big news whatever it is.

Maybe it is actually personal news? Maybe he's going to come out or something? Or maybe he's got a new kitten?

Or maybe that the "new lady in his life" wants him to concentrate on her and give up his "folly" across the pond - has sold his UK home I am told and that she (new lady in life) wants him to sever all contacts with his past (children aside of course , unless she really is a bunny boiler). - and no not Bunny from Stoke :)
