have you been smoking something whilst reading the naked lunch? I also looked at that section too and I'm glad to report didn't encounter any such homoerotic political sensation.

The site can be set as read-only or fully blocked for that username. HD is open to all guests.

This eastie thing has intrigued me  because he honestly doesn't strike me as the type of person who would spam.

I have contacted him about it to find out what happened and he is adamant it was only three messages sent to people he was friendly with in the days in or around the time he joined TBAR site.

I'm just relaying what has been said to me, because it has been brought up here today.

Then he's lying and you can pop back there and tell him that.

Much as I like Eastie and miss him on here, I certainly did receive the invite to join the site in question. There was no special reason for me to be invited as I have never struck up anything more than a 'friendly on here' relationship with him. In fact, because I looked at it quickly whilst away on business I didn't even clock who it was from. I just remember thinking 1) that someone would be in trouble and 2) it's good to have another site to look at occasionally

We should make a list of the takeover rumours we have had over the years. In no particular order;

1) Padfield QC
2) Ransom
3) Neville from Solihull
4) Comer brothers
5) Venezuelan magnate
6) Red Bull
7) Some Qataris
8 ) Gillett & Hicks
9) This current rumour

Are most of the objections to the PMs from people who didn't have the PM? Or is this sort of recruitment drive an ongoing attack from 'the other people'?

I didn't have the PM btw.

I now know what its like to be in purdah.

Nobody is taking us over. But I wouldnt be at all surprised if Doug isn't  thinking ' hmmm if I could get my club back for the right price'.

In the world of buisness anything is possible!

and Doug knows that!

Steffi Graf?

My knowledge of German women fades rapidly after that.

To be fair setting eyes on her wouldn't encourage you to seek out any of her female compatriots.

She's an odd one, her. Sometimes she looks really attractive, then the next minute, horrible. See also Bjork.

Viz used to refer to them as "borderline boilers".

also see Julia Roberts....

Not sure if you are being serious but he is 90 years old, even Ellis isn't that conceited and in any case he would have to spend his own money and that has never been his way.
