Did Agbonlahor sign a new contract? I know he's a Villa fan and all that but he's an impact sub at best.

He's going to get paid somewhere. I don't know what he's on but he's going to want to maintain his salary or at least as much as possible in the next deal. It's only natural. It might be structured with a greater emphasis on incentives but he's not going to accept a £25k a week drop. If he's on £50k, he might drop to £40k with the rest in bonus if it guarantees some long term security. But he's not going to accept not being paid because he wasn't picked that week.
