Still 87 behind.
That will be Gareth Breese's last first class innings as he retires at end of this match....tonight by looks of it.

Muchall Ct Ambrose b Barker 52
156-7 still 72 behind.
Warwickshire will finish on 238 points, Yorkshire i imagine will finish on 246 have now plus 4 bonus points from current game so 250 or 255 if they manage to
draw game at Somerset but they are still 148 runs behind Somerset so 12 behind if a defeat or 17 if a draw.

Excellent entertainment this season and it's always sad when it ends.  Winter well is the common valediction among the faithful.

Have to go to the football now, I suppose.

No Div 2 title for the Pears but what a great effort to get promoted....particularly when Essex got the most points of a non promoted side ever.

Good recruitment is required now, another first team bowler and possibly an experienced batsman, preferably one who can open if required.  Bumpy needs to have the Midas touch again as regards overseas player.

Would be huge if this time next year Pears have stayed up

A great season for the Bears.

Yorkshire are deserved champions, they beat us by an innings in two games. To finish runners up in two competitions and to win the other given the injuries and international call ups is a marvellous achievement.

Jeetan Patel is a wonderful cricketer and the most consistent overseas player we've had since Allan Donald. Varun Chopra overcame a poor start to the season and ended in great form. I think that captaincy will be the making of him.

The management of the players behind the scenes must be fabulous given that both Trott and Rankin returned - for different reasons - from the Ashes tour battered and broken. Both are back to their best.

You Bears!

I think even if Lancashire beat Middlesex now, they'd finish a point behind them.

Great season for the Bears and Pears.
