I just imagine him going home there every night and feeling mightly depressed

True.  The couple of months after his first season might have been alright but that's about it.

Nice venue, but I bet the dinner parties were really depressing affairs.

Starters would sometimes be passable, but main course and dessert were never as good.

Is it really his? A boyhood Celtic fan with a Union Flag chair? And would a single bloke live in house that big?

Hardly a surprise when you consider he'd bought some great ingredients but never knew how to cook.

Looks like they've robbed a hostel (albeit a trendy one)  to decorate some of those rooms.

Can't imagine a bloke in his mid 40's kicking around there at all.

Do you know what that bathroom says to me? Aqua. Which is French for water. It’s like being inside an enormous Fox’s Glacier Mint. Which, again, to me is a bonus

It’s very Cluedo this house, isn’t it? Colonel Mustard in the en-suite bathroom with the lead pipe. Battered

I think his chief exec (ex wife) spent a lot of money on it early on but curtailed all spending in the last two years. It still has potential if someone comes along who can spend a bob or two on it though.

My thoughts exactly.

"Join me tonight when my guests will be, I don't know, Chris Rea'. Actually, he lives in the area. I could have had him over. 'Alright Chris!', 'Hello Alan I didn't know you'd moved in', 'Yeah, just moved in, last week. I'm having a barbecue, fancy coming over?', 'I'd love to! Do you mind if I bring my guitar?', 'I'd rather you didn't, it's not that kind of area. Do you like Mini Kievs?', 'I love them! But my wife's vegetarian', 'Doesn't matter. She can have fish', 'No she won't eat that either', 'Oh forget it!. You people'."

They're not deaf offenders are they?

I don't think he was a boyhood Celtic fan. I seem to recall him mentioning in passing he followed another club as a boy but possibly I am wrong.

Can you imagine Lloyd Grossman and David Frost giving it the full "who lives in a house like this?"
