The property was full of potential when he first bought it but over time but a lack of creativity has led to it being left in a poor condition for the next owner.

I think it appears in good condition.  But the style is pretty crass, and even then the assets are not being used effectively.

I think you are missing the irony as comments being made are comparing the house to his tenure at the Villa.
