I keep trying to square this off in my mind. Supposing that the club has no intention of sacking Lambert, due to this notion of loyalty and a belief that ‘flipping the coin’ will work again us, what is the strategy? Even the most foolhardy and unknowledgeable must be able to see that our current form suggests that some form of risk assessment will need to be done for life outside of the Premiership; I may think many things as to the running of the club but to imagine that they have not considered this is simply unthinkable. So what’s the strategy, do they think that Lambert will eventually hit upon a winning formula, do they think that it’s simply a case of the rub of the green going for us, do they think that we've done it before so will do it again, or do they believe that once our players regain form we will pull clear? These are frankly the only reasonable assumptions I can gleam from a situation that past ridiculous last year, sped past ludicrous without pausing in September and is current show-boating past unfathomable with phantasmagorical on the horizon.
