The other thing the article talks about is possession in the final third, which has been so successful at Man City, for example. Now, they might have the players to carry it off, but our 'possession in our own half' model seems utterly brainless by comparison.

It's interesting that the article says 19 of 20 PL clubs use Prozone. It was written in Jan last year, so that club may have been relegated. I'd love to know which club it is, though.

I still play Football Manager because I'm 12 in a 29 year old's body. Anyway, on the game Paul Lambert has just been sacked after losing to Hull.

Gerry Francis took over.

I still play FM for that reason. Although I'm 30.

I took over from Paul Lambert.  In my first season, I cleared the deadwood, signed Manolo Gabbiadini from Sampdoria for a cool £4m.  Finished twelfth and won us the League Cup in my first season.

I've just been taken over by a Consortium Lead by Sir Graham Taylor.  I've been given £30m to spend.
So far I've spent £8m on Will Hughes.  Signed Micah Richards on a Free Transfer.  And taken Ashley Young and Ryan Bertrand on season long loans with a view to permanent deals for £5m and £3.5m respectively.

The future's bright with me at the realm.  I've decided I'm completely wasted as a Credit Control Supervisor.

This summer Arsenal bought a company in the Far East (I think) who analyses all the data from oodles of matches.  Wenger alluded to this new system after they signed that Centre Back in the January window.

StatDNA is their name.

Whilst 2m is a lot of money, it's only probably a Tonev in reality with wages and fee taken into consideration.  I also understand that they plan to sell the data to other clubs.

It all sounds on another planet to the bollocks we probably look at.

http://babb.telegraph.co.uk/2015/02/six-year-old-writes-to-jose-mourinho-and-asks-him-to-manage-aston-villa/   Aaah, what a nice kid!  He has several decades to go before he hits my depth of despair.

I just wish the idiots in charge could see and admit their hideous mistake.

Fuck off, this may be premature for this game but what's the excuse this time? we're playing a fucking appalling team and we're worse. His situation is utterly untenable and Lerner and Fox are completely clueless if they can't see it. This new TV deal has been announced today, that should be the wake up call. It's very nearly too late and it will be if they don't sack him now.

The only contract this boring half wit should have had was one on his head. Cut the corporate bollocks Fox, grow some balls Lerner, get over here and be responsible for this shit heap you've created.

If Lambert is not removed from our club

starting Saturday, can I just suggest, boycotting everything inside villa park. programs, food, , drink and everything in the villa shops.the club think we have no power but I could almost guarantee, if everyone got involved, the club would think twice, but it would have to be virtually everyone. you could still buy your tickets and support the lads.once they start losing hundreds of thousands of pounds, they have to try and get that money back

Well we're going down, but ultimately the owner doesn't appear to care.

Will he have the gall to say we were excellent after that? That is the sort of performance where a sacking or resignation would be merited.

I'm going to start spreading the rumour that his programme notes last Saturday contained some really rude comments about the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH.)
