Today's game was just the same as virtually every other game we have witnessed under the deluded one.
No craft, no guile, no flair, no tactics, no plan A, no plan B.

There are what 15,16 games left of this season, and then it will be 3 seasons under him.
In that time there has been NO progress. The playing staff may have changed, there may even be better individuals in the team, but as a team, we are no better than the day he came.

So, when that optimism switch gets flicked on Thursday because someone on AVFC.CO.UK posts pictures of smiling and laughing millionaires during training, and Guzan telling us that they are all really up for Chelsea, and this time they are 'going to play really good' just remember how many times times we have heard that over the last 2.5 years. And, just remember the reality that follows.

Trainers have come and gone, players have come and gone, even CEO's have come and gone.
The constants are Lerner and Lambert.

Nothing will happen with Lerner so we have to hope and pray that the deluded one is consigned to history ASAP, before it's too late, if it's not already.

There was a headline - possibly in The Sun when they were taking potshots at Graham Taylor - that summed up the situation while I was following the game today: 'In the name of God, go'. It is doing nobody, even Paul Lambert, any good for him to stay in the job. I saw in one of the other threads that maybe it's too much trouble for Lerner and Fox to get a new manager in, but we're at a point of no return now. We can survive - comfortably - with a positive change, but it has to be done. It's like grimly hanging on in a relationship you know imploded a long time ago; we'll all feel better once one party says to the other, "thanks for the memories".

This team should be a comfortable top 10 team with the correct coaching and management, simple as that.

100% agree.

We have become so bad that there is nothing to lose by sacking him.

Unfortunately the owner thinks he's doing a great job, so good he doesn't even need an assistant!

We lose our next two we're certain to be in the bottom 3 as Hull would then go above us.

In those circumstances I couldn't see Lambert surviving that especially if he clung onto the cup game and lost that.

When you can't score defeats are very likely. The thing is though he's got the two attacking players he targeted in this window in Gil and Sinclair so he has been backed to a degree and still I don't see us scoring a huge amount even with all the forward options we have now.

There is only one compelling reason not to sack Lambert, and that's a Randy Lerner manager search.

That's Villanorse's point, essentially. It's how I read it anyway.

When we fall in to the bottom three I really fear that we will be unable to get ourselves out of it.

Is there anyone out there who honestly doesn't think we are a laughing stock? If so I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't worry our CEO, who has a wealth of football experience and knowledge, assures us that we are a brilliant team and on the verge of greatness.
He sees this in training.

The fans don't have the insight that he has.

Hopefully Tom Fox had the biggest piss taking of his life by his old pals and is currently drawing up plans to avenge this dark day by giving Lambert the spanish archer first thing tomorrow.

To the untrained eye, we look like a boring, one dimensional, rudderless ship, cruising from one goalless defeat to the next BUT to the trained CEO's eye with his wealth of years spent watching the game and learning it's finer points he can tell by the way they play piggy in the middle in training that we are about to go on a winning spree. You're too thick to understand the correct narrative man.

He has delivered on his promise. We are into double figures.
