I never cease to be amazed at how little Lambert has to do to be back in favour with large elements of the fan base and the entire club administration.   I have never in all my supporting life seen any manager of any club, let alone Villa, be so bomb proof and bullet proof.
Precisely !!

Lets not forget we haven't won a league match in the last 7.
We havent scored a league goal in 5.
We are rapidly dropping down the table and poor results in the next 2 games could easily see us in the bottom 3.

But, we beat Bourmouth reserves, so Hey Ho !!
Spot on.  Don't get it either.  would love to be proved wrong, but am not convinced it will happen.

I think with the club making it completely clear that he isn't going to be sacked some will see it as a tipping point that the focus has to shift from Lamberts utter ineptness to getting the prayer mats out and willing the team to stay up.

Delph re-signing, winning & actually scoring a couple, the hope against hope of another couple in before Monday night & 2 games with no expectation has realised the pressure a little.

I just hope burying the heads in the sand & backing Mr Yesman works because I would have personally flipped that coin!

There has been some positive news withing signings, potential signings, Delph and getting into the 5th round. I don't see why people need to be slated for looking up rather than down.

That would be nice if we were actually moving upwards but we're not. The club is slowly slipping toward the relegation zone.

I am encouraged by new signings and Delph committing long term and I'm hopeful this will have a positive impact on us, so I'm looking forward to going down to Arsenal and seeing what we can do.

To back you up last 8 league gameS:

W L D L D D L L - Form
2  0 1 0 0 0  0 0 - Goals

I really want us to turn this around and hope we can bring the cup form to the league. Keeping Delph was great but it is being milked by the club to hide the important issues at the club.

Gil looks decent, but yet again we find ourselves scratching around the bargain basement for players even though we're deep in trouble at the foot of the table.
Forgive me if some of us aren't as excited as you.

I'm not sure where Ads has said that he's 'excited'. I think 'encouraged' is the word he used.

If the price of a player dictated your form, Newcastle, Spurs, Stoke, QPR and Liverpool would be counting their trophies. I have no problem with our scouts or the money we spend on players, it's what we do with them that's the issue. Lambert has gone out of his way to demonstrate what a poor manager he is despite having a decent squad to work with.

This is it. How much did the stripeyfilth pay for Brown Ideye?

Quite. From a signings perspective he still has credit in the bank for me (even if the Sinclair loan doesn't work out).

It's just everything else that is the problem.

That's all well and good, but you must be mindful of the fact that our decline started when Lerner decided to rid our club of most of our better players and replaced them with cheap inferior ones.

We spent £18m on Bent, £9.5m on N'Zogbia and £7m each on Benteke and Kozak during the time that I think most people would consider to be part of the decline.

I don't disagree that we're spending a hell of a lot less than we used to, but the issue is far more what the manager is doing with the players over what the chairman is giving him to purchase them.

That for me as well. I do quite the player's he's brought in. Some haven't worked out but it's not as if we've lost a fortune on them. If we had decent coach, we might be quite a decent side.
