It's all very well and good coming up with big lists of names, but they're ultimately meaningless. Why is Bielsa going to move from Marseille, top of Ligue 1? Why is Tata Martino going to resign as Argentina manager? Why would Montella leave Fiorentina? Why would Allegri leave Juventus for Villa?

Rangnick resigned from his last managerial job for health reasons and there is no way they will risk another Houllier situation. How does Prandelli getting fired for taking the richest team in Turkey to mid-table make him a suitable candidate for Villa?

but the thing is it's a gamble (any new manager is to an extent) but what we're 'giving up' to make that gamble is 1.1 points per game and 0.55 goals per game, that's a pretty low base so the number of managers you'd be prepared to gamble on is higher.  The issue is the entire club has become so risk averse that we don't risk sacking the manager, we don't risk commiting players further up the pitch, we don't risk trying to beat a man, it appears we won't risk appointing any new coaches or an assistant manager.  being so risk adverse is a huge risk in and of itself and more importantly it's fucking boring.

Prandelli is actually the perfect choice.  He was very good with Fiorentina, did as well as can be expected with a pretty poor Italy side (bar Pirlo) and has just had his first 'bump' in the road and been sacked after 16 games.  I can't imagine only having 16 games to adapt to a new country/club would be a big ask for most managers and he'll want to go somewhere that he can show everyone that gala made a big mistake, it's a bit like Moyes in that respect where a club in a country he's not worked before with lower expectations suits him perfectly.  Add to that the fact that's he's openly admitted to being a fan  and all the pieces fit.  He's comfortably top of the list for me.

Stoke at home could be a good one. Very unattractive fixture plus that's half term week and lots of people may be away or choose to do something more entertaining with the kids ?
I'm all for not going v Stoke .

Listening to Lambert's interview with Tom Ross yesterday beggared belief. Firstly he's not concerned about our lack of goals (well I fucking well am Paul) as the team are playing well, and they know they're playing well!!

I kid you not.

At first I just thought he was deluded but thinking about it I'm convinced  he spins all this bullshit for Lerner's benefit. As Lerner probably now takes no more than a passing interest then if Lambert tells him we're playing well, and he sees that we're 12th, then what's the problem. Everything is fine and dandy on Planet Randy.

Advocaat, Laudrup, Tuchel, Cowans, Gullit, Lippi, Sven, Redknapp (God I hate saying it), Pulis, Arena, Spalletti, Rangnick, Magath (despite what happened at fulham), Pereira (employed but supposedly looking for better) and Flores.

I'm not saying all would be a success but my point is that there are many available and better.

I put Pulis in because he was available and he would have done better.

Obviously that's 12, but the point is there's much better out there.

The point was that there are other managers who may be available.

Beisla, Allegri and Montella may be out of our reach but they have all previously expressed an interest  in managing in the Premiership.

I think it's unfair to dismiss Prandelli, who would be my choice on the basis he left Galatasary.
He's managed Italy in the World Cup, taken Fiorentina to the Champions League.
Bilic, in a recent interview with the Guardian also expressed his desire to manage in England.
I don't see Prandelli or Bilic being able to get a top four job immediately so why not us?

I'm not a great fan of protests and would never knee jerk into one BUT this is enough now , lambert needs removing.
Only the fans can get this noticed with fox and less so Lerner .

I'm generally not a fan either but a few Lambert out banners wouldn't go amiss, and plenty of Lerner out. Something to spark him into some action rather than apathy.

I'd also wonder if there's a game we could pick to try and get as close to a no show at VP as we can. Get enough people to stay away from the game to really make a point. There'd be plenty who will go rain, or shine of course, in greatness and shitness, Prem down to Conference. You'll never get them to take a weekend off.
But for example one of our remaining home games. Pick out one we know is going to be dross anyway, like Stoke at home. Try and get people to take the weekend off and make the gate as low as possible. It could be worth a try. We've been doing it well enough without rousing people. But if we could get our attendance below 20 for a league game it would hopefully drive the point home to Lerner.

To be honest, I don't even bother listening to the manager talk now. You know he's going to come out with the same tired cliches and prove that he sees a totally different game to everyone else.

The fact he gets such an easy time from the press astonishes me. I couldn't believe I read last week that Alan McInally remarked how Lambert has done "an outstanding job".   Better managers than him have had a harder time, especially when Ellis was about.

The way it's going I suppose it won't take much of a boycott anyway. Fans are naturally deciding to stay away from VP and more will follow. It's tough to endure such woeful football on your own patch.

He's nowhere near, give it 2 years after he's left and he'll be largely forgotten, Dolly will always be hated because he's an arse, Lambert's just not very good at his job, there's a vast difference.  This is also why most people don't hate McLeish, he didn't deserve to be hated.
