Who on earth voted no? Must have pressed the wrong the wrong button!

Raises hand. I still support him. I don't blame people who don't though.

Well if that poll is still 96% out in the middle of next week . The media need to know what the fans really think of Lambert . The local papers might take note of it .

It's merely an indicator of 100 people right now, but probably the start of a decent sample size if it was combined with other similar fan polls on other sites. Lots of very loyal fans are still showing up though and as long as that happens the club will still think they right to stand by him.

I think there may have been times in the past two seasons when sacking him would have been a reactionary move, but I think the time is now right.  The difference between now and other seasons for me is that he now has some talent at his disposal and it is becoming increasingly clear that he does not have a clue how to utilise it properly.  I think the loan players we have had over the past couple of seasons are prime examples of that.  Both Bertrand and Cleverley started their spells well only to fade away almost to the point of dejection.  He simply seems unable to get the best out of the players at his disposal and some of them seem far too comfortable wallowing in mediocrity.

This is just a guess based on not much evidence, but I wonder if the failure to appoint an assistant is down to Lerner not wanting to appoint someone only to then bin them when Lambert goes.

Nah, rubbish.

I think you are onto something. Let's hope it's true.

I wouldn't say I support him, it's just that I don't trust the board to pick anyone better. They seem content to exist and linger in lower midtable obscurity and Lambert probably will just about get that. We're in a hole and need leadership with better, braver ideas.

Lambert was the right appointment. I don't necessarily agree with others that Lerner hasn't picked the right Managers, other than TSM. Houllier wasn't bad really, given that MON walked five days before the season started. Sadly, with Lambert, it just hasn't worked out and now they need to be brave and act. He was seen as a young, up and coming manager and at the time I applauded the decision. Up to a point, I feel a little sorry for him. However, with results, lack of entertainment etc it's time for them to act. But, and it's a big but, I honestly feel that Lambert is Lerner's patsy and they will not get rid under any circumstances.

The saddest part is that there's no one out there to replace him. Even Pulis has gone.

Not saying his ideal yet but I'm liking that Burnley manager more every week

They all championship players yet show great character and he has them set up well , he gets the best out of every one of them .

They haven't really been hammered by every one . He might be good with better quality players which we actually have.

But there isn't many out there but theres got to be better than Lambert.

I find it very sad that any Villa fan can find anything whatsoever of merit in Lambert. He constantly plays the financial constraints card but it is not true. Managers with only a fraction of what Lambert has been given achieve far more. How did financial constraints cause the creation of the bomb squad? How did financial constraints cause the (alleged) bullying of young players? How did financial constraints cause the U turn on young and hungry? How did financial constraints cause the U turn on hoofball? How did financial constraints cause defeats by teams from lower divisions? How do financial constraints cause him to never use his substitutions to best effect?
As has been said he is Lerner's fall guy. A human shield between the owner and the fans.

Exactly , bit rich to moan about money when you are continually knocked out of cups by teams like Millwall and Bradford who can only dream of having the budget he has had to spend.

This 4-3-3 he plays has been found out as well and god only know why he persists with it.The front 3 are non functioning , the rest of the team is casually passing sideways and backwords whilst the front 3 barely touch the ball or in fact move ! There is something very wrong with the coaching at the club , no doubt not helped but him again looking for another assistant manager.

Oh well maybe we can get a goal against Blackpool ...

I'm not trying to change your mind, however it was pointed out on soccer saturday there are other managers in the league working on similar budgets.

There is no excuse for the way we play, there are plenty of good enough players in that team and he does not have a fucking clue how to set them up

We'd have to go abroad. Slaven Bilic and Prandelli would be on my shortlist.
