The only hope is Lerner looks at the attendances. Clearly the on the pitch results haven't been bad enough to make him pull the trigger but if we keep getting only 25000 villa fans turn up that might make him rethink matters. I for one refuse to spend another £1 on Villa till Lambert is gone. In fact I wouldn't go if they paid me after today.

I wonder what our lowest premier league attendance is, that could be another record for Lambert to stick on his list.

16,180 vs Southampton Nov 24th 1993.

A cold night and a Le Tissier brace IIRC. In hindsight the beginning of the end for BFR.

Yeah attendances were much worse in those days. We went top of the league with a 5-0 win v boro the season before. That was the best and most entertaining villa side I've seen. 22,000 were there. You could get in for a tenner in those days too

Was the Southampton game midweek under BFR when we lost 2-0 a few weeks before the cup final.

Southampton was a midweek game but months before the final. The game before the LC final was at home to Oldham, that was the weekend before the cup final. Lost 1-2 in front of 21,214.

I remember us playing Boro midweek before the '96 final. Awful 0-0 game but i've always remembered Scott Murray played for some reason. 23,933 braved that night.

I think I was at that Southampton game in that case.

19,977 when we did Boro 5-1 to go top. Was live on Sky but can't really blame that as very few had it in those days.

That was a Monday night game, right? Took a fair bit of conditioning for fans to get their heads round new weird kick-off times.

I am usually pretty objective when it comes to being able to do any manager's jobs, it's never as easy as it looks - however - I now think I could actually do Lambert's job better than he does ;-)

The last poll sums up the problem, over half wanted him to stay, there are no protests, no real media attention focussed on how awful we are, just apathy and dwindling attendances with an absentee owner.
Until these things change, there will be no change.

No protests?! The NHS is being sold/given away from under our noses, justice is being privatised, people are being taxed because of their kids' old bedrooms, no government (bar one, I think) has ever been elected with a majority vote, the BBC could easily be screwed, the bankers are on the verge of fucking those of us they didn't get last time, innocent peasants are being blown up by remote fucking control every day, Jeremy Clarkson isn't dead.

Maybe protest about some of those first?

Having seen Chelsea's and arsenal's results today . They are both going to hammer someone in the next few games. I wonder who they might be playing

Stirring stuff, but I think it goes without saying that all of us moaning about the team and the awful football are doing so whilst recognising that there are far bigger, more important issues outside football.

True, but most aren't bemoaning the lack of organised protests. From America.

are you suggesting that any of those things are bigger than us not scoring week after week? You might need to get your priorities sorted son.

I think it was Karl Marx who said 'from each according to their ability to supply Big Chris and his proclivities in and around the old onion bag'.
