Not everyone applies the same criteria to the term 'winnable games'. Swansea will be favourites but its not the sort of game where you would totally write us off. I think it will be difficult but I think we can win it too which makes it winnable i.e. its realistic.
The term was "very" winnable.
It clearly isn't "very" winnable .

Can you share with us the degrees of winnability so that we don't make that mistake again. I would suggest you start at 'unwinnable' and finish with 'extremely winnable'.

Why is the game not 'very winnable'?
Ask the bookies. They're rarely wrong.

Man Utd were favourites to beat us on saturday. They were wrong then.

Every game is very winnable and very losable. There are only two teams playing. Now if it were between ten teams, it wouldn't be as winnable or losable.

I'd say it's very drawable. But Swansea are favourites.

It's more drawable than either. After all, it starts out that way.

Judging by the swing in the poll numbers you're not the only one.

I voted to give him a bit more time. Lambert makes a shit ton of mistakes and he has broken all the crap records, but he has also been hamstrung by various problems like his choices in Assistants Managers. If we can genuinely keep moving towards a better style of football then I can't really groan about the rest.

Also, if we were to get rid of him, God only knows the manager Villa would bring in to replace him. Another three years of rebuilding and getting players off the wage bill would surely ensue. So for me the ideal scenario is Lambert gets his shit together and Villa move upward with some consistency.

But surely that's a problem of his own making...?

There certainly seems to be a lack of leadership there, given what has happened. Lambert can't be divorced from that, it is a key part of his job.

I agree gentlemen, without meaning to make excuses for Lambert, it can't have been the ideal way to run (almost typo'd ruin) a football team. That lack of leadership is something we have sorely missed since O'Neill. I think Houllier had started to really grab things by the scruff of the neck but we've been drifiting for a long time since. It's a massive ask but if Lambert can smooth things out, improve confidence and improve the way we play then I think he deserves to stay. All I want is for Villa to be competitive really, I don't much mind who's actually in charge.
