We might have ridden out the worst spell. A bit more time I suppose, and especially if the football improves.

I'm afraid wins against Crystal Palace and Leicester haven't changed my mind. Obviously, I'm massively pleased and relieved, but it doesn't sudden make those awful stats over the last two years any better. What's his long term win ratio? I really, really hope I'm wrong but I still see us being just a few points above the drop by the end of the season.

Two wins against bottom half clubs don't make us Real Madrid all of a sudden. Palace could have put us to the sword had they some decent strikers whilst Leicester were very poor. WBA are crap but the derby next week is the sort of game that can make or break a season either for them or us. Its nice to win some games but Lambert needs to keep the run going and take the shackles off of this team. Ask me again in January after the FA Cup game when we've played against some League One side at home.

Trying to be realistic I've gone from sack him now to give him some more time, largely because you can't sack someone after back-to-back wins.  The issue now though so that you have to see what happens vs west brom and man u, lose both of those and you have a repeat of what has happened after pretty much every decent run, if that does happen do you sack him before Christmas to give you time to get someone in to make signings in January but leaving you without a manager for a busy run of fixtures?  That seems like the bigger risk for me so I'd keep him and given I still think he's done a decent job in the transfer market when he's spent decent money I'd give him enough to make 1-2 signings in the £4-8m range.

Shay Given on talksport saying how we changed a few things tactically and worked on ball possession in training. Obviously Lambo's trip to Bayern has opened his eyes to a few things.

Shay also saying Westwood having a scan today, he wasn't massively in pain.

Everyones buzzing in training

If we keep trying to attack and show some semblence of trying to play then he can stay. The problem is you look at Lamberts history and 5 games unbeaten, two wins on the bounce....what comes next is almost inevitable. If he surprises us, then he could win a few back in his corner. We've got to be beating West Brom. As far as Utd go. If we don't attack them he's an idiot because everyone can see they concede goals. Sit back for 80-90 minutes and we're delaying the inevitable and gift their talented strikeforce too much time.

Still don't think he right for us. It wouldn't bother me if he left today.

A chancer and someone who is out of his depth at Villa

Lambert would have been blamed had we lost those games so surely he deserves some credit for the wins.

I thought we played some decent stuff yesterday and there seems to be a good spirit in the squad over the last few games but it is fragile and that would be undermined by sacking him now.

I'd be prepared to give him til the end of the season. We're bad, but we're not going down. He's been unlucky with injuries. If things are still as shite in May, then let him go.

The jury will still be out on him and understandably so. We've been on mini run's like this before and not built on them. That said, the players are still playing for him so they obviously like him.

It has been good to get back to back wins and string five games unbeaten together but nothing has changed with my thoughts on Lambert. He is still clueless when it comes to tactics and needs to go.We have just played the bottom two,one of the games we were lucky to get a draw in the end and the other we were inches away from conceding in injury time even though we had a extra man.

Because of previous form spells and what usually happens following them, I have voted I still want him gone. Not immediately as you cant sack him after 2 wins, but if we get soundly turned over against the Albion we are back to square 1.
I wasnt calling for his head after 2 defeats earlier in our bad run and im not voting for him to stay after 2 wins against poor teams we should be beating.
My biggest bugbear with Lambert is his continual insistance on doing the same thing over and over during bad runs. Fair play though, he has tried to change things and its worked. His ability to endure is commendable

I think he has burned most of the goodwill.

Happy for him to prove those of us who want him gone to be wrong. He has been incredibly lucky to still be in employment. The fact he followed 2 mostly unpopular incumbents, albeit for different reasons, meant he had a very easy ride.

I think he is out of his depth tactically at this level.

I'd like to stick to my original vote, give him til Christmas.

I'd really like it if we ended up singing his name as the man who did something amazingly good rather than amazingly shit.

Time will tell.
